I think the cool thing about the BS rankings is because how our team has earned it specifically in their play in Vegas, and then watching other teams around the country etc. Shit we for sure look top 10 or 7 or 5

Anyone know if HoosPlace is going to be active this season? Always thought their game previews from StLouHoo were top notch. Havenā€™t seen much activity there this season.

No question weā€™ve ā€œearnedā€ our rankings relative to everyone elseā€™s body of work so far, but what teams are in November is not what they are in February.

I worry about rankings in February. What November / December does, whether it is justified or not, is establish some bonafides that impact NCAA tourney decisions in March. Honestly I think too much emphasis is placed on these early games because teams get better and worse during the season.

At the beginning of the season, going 2-2 against our tough OOC schedule (Baylor, Illinois/UCLA, Houston, Michigan) seemed like a reasonable and maybe overly optimistic goal.

Now, Iā€™d be disappointed if we didnā€™t go 3-1, and I think we have a good shot at 4-0.

Our kryptonite always has been teams that suddenly get streaky hot from three-point range. Michigan has that potential, although they havenā€™t shown it yet. I hope they continue to stay cold.

UVA builds early 6-10 pt lead, Michigan rallies takes lead midway through 2nd half. Hoos clamp down last 10 mins and pull out a 67-59 win.

Of course. Again, I dont care about anyone but Virginia. So the way we have gotten this early recognition (surprising everyone but Kenpon) is what I like about it

It means little but would rather be 6-0 than 4-2 or whatever

Edit: the ā€œdangerā€ is if the players care about it

This is a game where I think our defense can really shut down Michigan. Short of them shooting lights out, I can see Dickinson getting his but the Michigan guards really struggling to get anything going. Could be a rock fight win

I feel like this is a standard fan-base worry for any team.

Remember that dude several years ago at I believe Wofford, Fletcher McGee? He was the NCAA record holder for 3-point shooting and the game they lost in the NCAA tournament he went 0-20 or something crazy like thatā€¦ itā€™s a tale as old as time.

Edit: Fletcher MaGeeā€¦ he went 7-14 in the first round and then went 0-12 in the round of 32ā€¦ Iā€™m looking at the box score and Keve Aluma & Storm Murphy played in both games as wellā€¦ neither did too well in either.
