Roasted parsnips are amazing⦠especially with some Yorkshire pudding alongside a classic English Sunday Roast!
Hell yes. One of my favorite things about spending time in England is a Sunday pub roast. Absolutely fantastic.
I like steak
I was thinking of getting one for Christmas so my wife can give it to me.
Iām not sure if I should just get an electric one to start off with since Iāve never owned one before⦠or just go all in and get a higher end one. Any thoughts?
Deviled eggs always.
Also, I have converted my wife to Thanksgiving dinner around lunchtime as she grew up almost always having it for dinner.
That way, we have leftovers for dinner same day and lunch the next day
I love to grill and smoke meats, so I highly recommend a smoker. Iāve never had a traeger, but I can say I prefer the wood pellet smoker to a kamado style smoker. Just way way easier. WiFi temp control is a game changer.
Theyāre also pretty versatile. Iāve used mine as basically a pizza oven. Iāve smoked desserts. Theyāre awesome for large beef cuts like tenderloin or prime rib. Iām gonna have to smoke something this weekend.
The reason I went with a more high end built in smoker is because we have an outdoor kitchen with a gas grill also, and my smoker is stainless steel so it matches the grill and the drawers and the fridge. Iāve heard good things about traegers though.
Corn pudding - at least a 3rd generation (probably more) Surry County family recipe. Great dish for potlucks, too.
Yes please- that looks unreal!
Iāll be right over.
Anyone that says parsnips, which arent real, is at risk of losing LRA priviledges.
Also unless you live in Tennessee Thanksgiving is not great
A North Carolina Christmas is real real
Mad love and respect for all the Traeger and pellet grillers and smokers out there.
Not surprising the Dragon keeps it old school with a tradional smoker and a smoke pit. All chopped wood etc. And yes its a pain on the as labor intensive and a bit stupid and thats why I love it. I smoke a brisket every year for Christmas
Bro, I fell my own trees. Then I carry each tree across my shoulders 3 miles through the snow. Then I split my own logs. Then I hand whittle each log into individual pellets. Then I load my modern Wi-Fi enabled smoker with those pellets and sit back and relax for a bit. Did I mention I hunt kill and slaughter my own meat?
@4547Lambeth Which Traeger do you have?
Anyone have any opinions on this one?
That is what I have and I have been really happy with it. I use Traeger recipes and have had great results just following their guidance. (I am no grill master but the smoker produces great results despite that).
I recommend using one of the pellet blends (I have been happy with Bear Mountain and Lumberjack).
I started out smoking brisket and steaks but now we smoke just about everything and our grill is getting used sparingly.
Mine is a step up from this, the ironwood 650. Biggest difference is it uses a downdraft to push smoke back down over foods and releases from underneath. Has WiFire and a āsuper smokeā mode where itāll cook around 285 or so and amps up the smoke draw down.
Iām telling you this because you may find what I found when I was looking at the same grill you linked⦠if you donāt already have it download capital one shopping app (free for everyone to use) and check for a traeger instant cash back offer. The ironwood 650 was being revamped so the current model was discounted and with the capital one offer I only spent like $45 more for this grill than I wouldāve the one you linked without discounts. Or just use cap one offer to get the one you linked even cheaper, but if you want more bang for your buck check the way I mentioned.
There is a Black Friday deal going on for it right now tooā¦
Forreal do the cap one thing. Itās instant cash back and can be used for anyone. Itāll just redirect you to traeger website.
I just checked it out, theyāre offering 3% right now. When I did it (around Memorial Day) it was 7.5%.
Has their been a poll for best part of thanksgiving meal? Im assuming stuffing wom
The only people who vote for stuffing are those who havenāt had my grandmas mac and cheese. But not entirely their fault.
