I was trying to work on the bark… doubled the rub and added some coarse black pepper to it. It hardened up pretty good I was happy with it.

WTF was this VT grad doing?

Worst back-flip attempt EVER! I read he was a mechanical engineer… must’ve failed his physics class.

Kids randomly doing backflips has been a thing the last few weeks. Some of the really athletic kids have it down, but some of the less athletic kids have been trying as well (usually when they thought adults weren’t watching).

My reactions have really run the gamut, from:

  • Abject horror - there was no way the kid was going to pull it off and the state meet was in like 3 days so obviously he was going to hurt himself
  • Amusement - really unathletic kids who can’t even get far enough into it to risk hurting themselves
  • Surprise and grudging admiration - the occasional semi-athletic kid who out of nowhere totally nails it

Looks like he practiced in sneakers, forgetting his dress shoes were smooth-soled. That or was stepping on the gown.

Gotta practice how you play.

Loved Michael’s in my years in CVille. Still bummed it closed.

Besides getting good beers, loved the Original Zen cocktail that tasted like the Capri Sun pouch that had the surfer on it from when I was a kid.

A lot of nothing here, but it is interesting that almost everything Danielle Collins says near a tennis court gets painted as a controversy.

Anyways, Collins is playing in the second round of the French Open today. Go Hoos.

I am sincerely happy for him.

Still, it would be fitting if he checks out on the relationship for the next year, then leaves her for someone else.

I camped for a week in the Sandhills of Nebraska years ago. It was in some ā€œNational Forest.ā€ Someone had planted a coniferous tree, all 4 feet of it, next to the National Forest sign. That was the only tree around for a hundred miles.

For those of you playing along at home… the issue that brought down the LRA forums last night was a CSRF token authentication issue. Honestly not sure why LRA had a CSRF token as Discourse runs on a REST API. :man_shrugging:

A CSRF (Cross-Site Request Forgery) token is a unique security measure designed to protect web applications from unauthorized or malicious requests. It’s a specific type of token, often referred to as a synchronizer token or challenge token, that verifies the authenticity of requests made by a user. Each CSRF token is unique to an individual user session and is embedded in web forms or requests. When a user submits a form, the server checks the CSRF token to ensure it matches the one it issued, confirming the request’s legitimacy. This token is crucial for security, as it prevents attackers from performing actions on behalf of unsuspecting users. To maximize security, a CSRF token should be a large, unpredictable value, making it extremely difficult for attackers to guess or replicate.
