Very happy for Kyle as I said earlier he’s proving to have the knack for instant offense off the bench. And with his ability to hit the three he is a valuable assets to NBA teams. Can’t remember who said it but I agree he’s in the odd position of too polished for G-League not quite ready for steady rotation minutes in the NBA. I believe he’s also the victim of circumstance. The Kings are a young team who move quick and have a ton of pieces they are trying to figure out. A kid in Kyle’s position would be better off going to a more seasoned team that has better defined roles and he could learn his and slot into the appropriate place. Nonetheless he is making the most of it, and with the new 2-way rules he should at least get a shot at some PT this year which will help prove his value.
Luke Walton’s opinion is irrelevant. Very good chance Kyle Guy out survives him in Sacramento this year.
Also the kings actually need to play Corey Joseph more to show his value as a bench piece so they can trade him.
For those of you that know NBA contracts, can other teams sign you from a two way contract? Could another team see him as a role player and sign him from the Kings?
KG said after the game he had put on about 10lbs in the off-season and it showed. He looked like he belonged with the second unit and playing with some of the starters. He played all of the fourth quarter with the end of the bench guys running the point and he was the best Sacramento player on the court. Now want to see Ty make his OKC debut.
@HooRick unfortunately, not with a two-way. I think he can be traded but his rights are owned by the Kings.
@Hooandtrue I agree. Like it or not Corey is getting paid $7mil. You’re not going to demote the guy in a press conference or publicly diminish his value.
@BDragon also agree that Kyle would be much better off on a seasoned team. You could probably say it about anyone, but I think he’d be great on the Bucks or Lakers. He’s a cheap shooter (neither have payroll space or great shooters) and for the most part they can hide him on defense.
Really want Kyle to succeed.
I think that’s the key I just want to see Kyle succeed, and I truly believe he is talented enough and has a desirable skill set that he can do it. With players like him I believe it all comes down to fit and coaching. I like Walton as a coach but the Kings have given me no reason to believe they can develop talent in any meaningful manor. And with teams like the Kings that have lots of uncertainty you tend to get guys looking to get their own and keep their spot, or up their value to get to the next spot. That’s not the type of environment you want if you’re a developing player.
In his own postgame interview, Guy was suitably humble but eager.
Also see the SacBee article, which doens’t have much about KG other than a photo of him being mobbed by this teammates after hitting the winning three-pointer.

Yep, people on this forum should love it!
Which implies Kyle may make their regular NBA roster. Walton talked about the G League so Kyle’s situation is still uncertain, but overall seems positive.
Dre is looking awfully good in the preseason. Games of 18 and 15 points in his first two, and 13 in the first half tonight.
Guy soon in this kings game hopefully
In to start the 2nd quarter
Anybody else think Kyle was about to dunk that and then have a heart attack when the finger roll almost rimmed out?
Yeah I was like he definitely didn’t have the speed for the dunk there.
Yeah he’s had some nice passing. Right now is rushing his shot a bit and also they’re guarding him more closely.
Yeah Brad Wannamaker is not giving him ANY space lol. He’ll get those open looks in the 4th quarter when its 2nd unit vs 2nd unit
Kyle guy back in early into the 3rd.
Dre was great again tonight with 22, 5 of 8 from 3. Golden State wasn’t going to let Kyle get going tonight and guarded him tough. Shot wasn’t exactly falling but still scored 8 with 3 rebounds and 3 assists. I thought he was solid running point. AG with 2 free throws for his 2 points in 5 minutes of action.
