It matters to some recruits, sure, maybe even most! — but you can’t generalize that to every high school kid. Houston is proof you can recruit at a high level playing slow. Three five stars in this class alone.

Exactly. Pace and perception mattered to team takeover recruits vis a vis uva targets. But our evaluation and strategy in recruiting was awful after McKay left.
But so many slow as sh*t teams recruit well. Houston is proof. Tennessee is proof. UConn is proof.
I’m not sure McCollum will be able to recruit to Iowa. If he had gotten the IU job, he’d be a very scary proposition.

I honestly don’t understand why people insist on shitting on a head coach with strong credentials before they even step foot on Grounds. It’s one thing to express a preference for another candidate- I get that. But to be so explicitly against the leader of the program before a contract is even signed is so bizarre
