🏀 NCAA Tournament Men's Basketball - Outside UVa Thread

UMBC has had some very clever social media over the years. They’re like Honey Badgers. Don’t mess with them.

Apparently Smith stole the assists mark from Gottlieb. Stealing: something about which Gottlieb knows.

Why is Stanford playing in the crown and not the NIT?

Fewer games, potentially less travel (somehow Cal was a 2-seed in the NIT v. Wake as a 1-seed).

Probably better player perks with it being in Vegas. Seems like Crown has the prize pool as well, where NIT just pays some paltry expenses.

We have basketball tonight! That’s the good part of the play-in games. Honestly I felt like there ought to have been basketball last night too. They need to arrange a deal where like, they lock in a couple early-AQ 16 seeds ahead of time so they can be prepared to play on Monday night. Get the stage all to themselves.

Odds of a perfect bracket are 4x higher than last year and like 10x higher than they were ten years ago due to increased gap between the top and middle of the sport (at least according to this guy on twitter)

Yeah, the Crown is at least trying the time-honored solution of motivating people to do something by giving them money.

Since the common reason of teams skipping non-NCAAT postseason is to get ready for the pros/portal, maybe someone will start up the college version of Peach Jam and open things up for scouting (it’s a no for me, dawg, but just saying).

That being said there are supposed to be 2 big east auto bids and seemingly only one accepted. Unless they are counting WVU and Rutgers xd

Isn’t that what the PIT is?

This (terrible) idea would make it open to guys with eligibility who have portaled.

Bilas picks Michigan State to win it all. I don’t see it, but at least he’s different.
