Again, I’m not disagreeing, per se, other than I don’t feel the staff should pitch something which might, or might not, be there. I think there are lots of positives about the University of Virginia to sell, but if a recruit’s decision to attend UVa is due to a promise, or even a suggestion, that doesn’t materialize, then the program will have problems, IMO. I think that this is especially true given the pillars upon which Coach Bennett has built the program.
I would share that concern but they aren’t pitching anything that might not be there. Gardner and BVP are moving on. Their minutes will be up for grabs. All that is being promised is the opportunity to compete for those minutes.
The contrast would be at PG. We aren’t pitching a kid there that he’s going to come and compete with Reece for the starting PG role.

Winning? The arc of Caffaro’s development is not dissimilar to that of Salt’s, and I think the program did okay then. Among other things, Cafffaro is a big presence in the lane. He’s physical. He doesn’t necessarily have to be a scorer. Given the number of shooters on the squad now, I am uncertain that there are enough basketballs to go around as it is! Caffaro brings a lot to the table, IMO!

gonzaga mod is a bit of a dick.
He said something like “Traudt was never the biggest priority since few didn’t go see him till late” like He had 3 articles where Traudt was at the top of the prospect priorities and telling the people there Traudt was a huge target. And then said Few always prioritized Braedon Huff lmao. Was very cathartic when their fans were asking about Blake Buchanan and Bossi was like “I actually like him more than your 2022 commit Braedon Huff”.

Kaiser edits (no misses). No one knows anymore where this recruitment is LOL. Wisconsin thought they had him. UVA felt confident. Maryland popped the bottles when he first said he was going to commit end of month. Now there is smoke Dad wants Maryland but Kid wants UVA. Other schools are jumping in. Gym Membership guy on Maryland board has been MIA.
Its never clean and simple with UVA recruitments is it.

Dre about to get paid. Heard a pod this AM where they said market would probably be 4 years / 68M and Dre might turn that down. Believe the market was OG Anunoby
EDIT - Spotrac says 4 yrs / 72 for OG, so either I misheard, misremember, or the hosts (Vecenie and Athletic’s Pistons beatwriter) misstated. Either way, he will be paid.

Gonzaga is super weird about scholarship offers. And they pretty much rely on assistants for everything. It really makes it hard to read what they’re up to, by design I assume.
