Again no real surprises. Latest Trilly update (and again assuming activity moreso related to agents and chippings in the coaching community, not UVA leaks)
This list is pretty reasonable. Throw in an established coaching retread (Cronin, Shaka, Otzel) that will probably be contact and hopefully some under the radar names (JERROD CALHOUN).

Honestly I’d rather go Ron over McKay. No interest in him whatsoever.

Dude had Utah St as a top 30 team with a top 25 offense and currently has VCU at 32 with a top 25 defense.
He has a pretty impressive track of being solid everywhere he’s been despite not being a power 5 coach yet.

One thing everyone needs to drill into their heads is that 30% of the roster is gone even if we keep Ron. So this team growing and evolving into a top 50 caliber team next year is not a given. Ron would have to replace a few key pieces, at minimum.
Just putting that out there to ground a bit of the warm fuzzies.
If the team nails this last part of the season and has a solid ACCT, I think he should be in heavy consideration. But it’s not because we should expect continuity.

A couple personal observations. This team is now showing progress along with steady improvement. The defense and especially the offense have improved.Rohde is now a legit point guard and team leader. I have not seen passing skills like his from the PG position since Ty.
Arobs improvement along with the emergence of Rhode is a credit to the staff. This season has been a journey for sure but Ron has shown the chops to guide them through it. Finish Strong and I like the idea for continuity sake of Ron Sanchez retained as our coach for next year

I mostly wasn’t referring to Odom there lol. I’ve made my peace with him likely being our next HC. He’s fine.
McKay and Pitino being half our list would make me sad.
SEC is gonna have several “solid metrics, ghastly conference record” teams.

Liberty about to take on UTEP, their coach is also a mid Major coach who could be a soon power 5 coach Joe Golding (who won an NCAA tournament game at Albeline Christian)
Quite excited that Byington’s name is still being mentioned and not totally being dismissed as a “just got to his current school” type. Want him.
