I have a hard time believing this about anyone who canāt beat out Kody Stattmann. Then you throw in that heās almost 20 and itās an even worse sign. With Traudt and Bond coming in next year I will be pleasantly surprised if Igor does anything notable at UVA. 8th man on a protected seed type of team is my āthings went wellā expectation.
Unless we are actually converting him to a big. In that case Iām more optimistic that this is all growing pains and he can come on later in his career like many of our other bigs have done.
Man seeing how weak the acc was this year, we could have stomped on their necks/really established ourselves as kings of this conference if we just had one high level 3pt shooting guard.

Also super frustrated with Texas Tech lol. How come they havent had a drop off after their run to the championship game, even with a coaching change? (in other threads ive talked about how Im aware that Kyle and Jerome leaving early, Calipari stealing juzang from us, and Casey/Jabri not panning out all in the same time frame screwed us but still. Thatās what the transfer portal is for and taking guards who we could have gotten like Deebo Coleman at Georgia tech instead of internationals who need adjust. Also Carsonās footspeed or lack of couldnt have been a new development)

They (Mark Adams) really cleaned up in the portal. Tony kind of went with a half pregnant option in the portal. Maybe it paid off in recruiting by having fewer bodies as competitionā¦ But it hasnāt really paid off on court, and it didnāt pay off by allowing any room for young talent to emerge (arguably Kadin and more Reece, but I think they couldāve emerged even with more portal talent).

Well, this isnāt really defending the plan for this season, BUTā¦ if Armaan actually was a 40% three-point shooter on volume, weād likely be in a very different place and feeling much better about this year. Obviously part of the problem is we apparently had no other playable three-point snipers so when the one transfer option fell through, we couldnāt shoot threes to save our lives. But if that facet of Armaanās game had panned out, the whole plan would have looked at least somewhat better. Alas, it has not.

I remember I was laughed at when I said I wanted another shooter and people were like āWe already have Taine/Carsonsā. Laughed at me I tell ya.
Matt Bradley at San Diego State is shooting 42% from 3 (was that hot shooting transfer out of Cal that I included in some of my imaginary mock). Of course Kellan Grady would have been incredible but we are never beating Kentucky/Duke, especially in the age of NIL, if they want a recruit

The word from Gradys camp was that Tony wouldnāt commit to a starting spot or else we would have had a legit chance.

Is that confirmed? Is it normal for S+C coaches to have regular contact with committed recruits?
I canāt remember exactly, but I think I read something similar to Dave. Doesnāt have to be regular, sustained contact, I assume. Maybe Curtis just gave him a few workouts.
But Iām just guessing. I havenāt seen the inside of a weight room since never.
Yes confirmed - straight from Isaac in an interview. Curtis gave him the program after he signed - I have no idea how much they actually talk or review live.
