Now youâre talking DentistHoo!
I only like a handful of Beatles songs. That particular version of Here comes the sun I love. Its my wife and mine wedding song
Now Iâll go back all the way back to the late 70âs. I came to the States in 1977 as 7-year old, not knowing a thing about American culture. The first artist that really struck a chord with me was someone who just blew me away with his showmanship and singingâŠthe gloved one, Michael Jackson. This is my favorite from Off the Wall:
Close this thread immediately. Iâm losing what little respect I had for the posters on this forum at a truly alarming rate.
I never had to give you a poop emoji before dragon. Iâm disappointed.
The Horticulture kid whoâs last name yaâll are having so much fun with, looks like their younger brother. Kinda.
Wait ⊠itâs Ace of Base? Whatever. Never mind.
Explains so so much
OkâŠback to some GOOD songs. For the old folks, this was the first singer I saw live in the US. My folks were into it, and I thought it was good, too. Died tragicallyâŠ
I suppose it wouldnât really be a nostalgia songs thread in a UVa forum if DMB isnât mentioned. I remember countless shows at Trax (RIP)âŠmakes me think about listening to Boyd Tinsleyâs band back in the day at Sigma NuâŠgood timesâŠ
First concert at UVa for meâŠfirst year, first semester. Triple bill at UHall. First up, Indigo Girls:
I found them to be okâŠvery tepid response from the crowdâŠ
Second up, Fishbone. WOWâŠthey were incredible! Full on intensity. Huge mosh pit on the floor. They kicked ASSâŠ
Who knew theyâd be singing about our offense?
Last, Violent Femmes. Most anticipated, but most disappointing. They were so drunk off their assesâŠstill love them, thoughâŠ
My radio show used to be on from 2 AM to 6 AM. I never made it to any morning classes the next day. Back then, the studio was at the basement of Peabody. I would open my show with thisâŠ
I love me some old school hip-hopâŠnot a fan of this new mumble-mouth shitâŠ
My favorite Charlottesville band grew up in their house basically. Bill Willson was a Dean in Garrett hall with my mom. James graduated from Uva. And they penned this beautiful ballad to the commonwealth that Ive had the pleasure joining them on stage to sing more than once
Great song. Iâve never heard it before but Iâm adding it to my playlist.
Couldnât have picked a better one!
