Iâm sure itâs significantly more complicated than this, but anytime I hear one of our players has a new agent my first thought is âWell theyâre not coming backâ.

Just about all of UVAâs players should probably have agents, maybe a couple itâs not worth it. As others have saidâŚafter a change, itâs not a normal portal season. Fans wonât like it but all these guys are free agents right now. and most will enter the portal even some who are inclined to stay.

For whatever reason, I have become apathetic towards keeping anyone. If it works and a coach or player stay, thatâs nice. If not, whatever. Let Coach Odom build it the way he wants to with his guys and letâs move forward.

Wouldnât say apathetic myselfâI really love the guys on this team. But I recognize that
A) The players all need to do what they feel is best for them, and
- The coach needs to put together HIS best roster.
Sad to see some of these guys go, but excited to start a new era.

Would really like to see him in a system like Odomâs thatâs very guard friendly and would take advantage of his athleticism (assuming heâs recovered well)

At this point no other team has any idea how good Gertrude is post-surgeries⌠so he may as well stick around for his prove-it year. Unless New Coach totally recruits over him in the portal or something.
Whether he stays or goes, I hope he proves it big-time. Heâs had way more than his fair share of bad luck.
