Tobey might be the oddest player of the Bennett era. Not sure he was a lot different from his 1st year to 4thā¦didnāt regress, he just was who he was from the beginning.
After his 1st year I figured no way heād be around his 4th year if he steadily improved in years 2 & 3ā¦but he didnāt.

totally agree. heās an example not the exception, that proved the rule that Bennett didnt always leverage and accelerate offensive standouts, just wasnt in his bag to focus on getting more looks for anyone other than bombers. adjustments were more strategic (get it inside v press, blabla)ā¦ Huff in particular should have been scoring 20+ by senior year but we never saw a true offensive explosion that went beyond that game in i think Nov of his redshirt frosh year.

We should have put Huff in a cage and fed him raw meat all week. Occasionally poked him with a stick. Man, if he had a mean streak he would have been truly dominant.

Curious about the reasons why you would choose to, or choose not to, announce your portal entry before the portal officially opens.
Would it be fair to speculate that guys who announce their portal entry early are casting a wider net (theyāre effectively requesting suitors)? And by contrast, if youāve already back-channeled a deal, thereās no need to advertise your availability yet? Or is it just kinda random and Iām bored so Iām overthinking it. (Itās probably that.)
Dai Dai entering the portal was a givenā¦probably even if Bennett or Sanchez was here. He only came to UVA because it was the best situation last year, chance to play + money. Wouldnāt 100% assume heās closed to coming backā¦this is business. Odds arenāt good. But ya neve know if the new coach wants him and steps up.
