Lol yeah @jazznutUVA will move everything eventually.
If we are to believe Konâs mom, they arenât going to sit together and discuss until Wednesday at the earliest. Also Tony I imagine will make his way out there before a decision is made if we are to believe 2025 Will Garlock saying UVA would be in Wisconsin to check in on him as well.
Anderson or Henderson or something like that, the great point guard that went to GT with Dalyrmple. I think it was Anderson. We did get Polynice on that trip too.
Sheehy was another one of my must haves and he didnât seem to evolve quite as I was thinking he would. I believe Terryâs system had some to do with that.
No question. Also, when do we list our worst 10 nut punch losses of all-time? I will ante up the Clem football loss at home - on my wedding day - when we were up 28-0.
Sheehey, Polynice, Smith, and Dalrymple were all my class (high school class of 1983). Kenny Anderson was several years after that. He was on Creminsâs 1990 national runner-up team (Lethal Weapon 3 with Dennis Scott and Brian Oliver, who now does color commentary on some ACC regional broadcasts). I donât think Anderson and Dalrymple overlapped at GT. Dalrymple was on those great GT teams with Mark Price, John Salley, Tom Hammonds, and Craig âNoodlesâ Neal.
Thatâs totally on me. I won free use of the U.S. Celluar (I think) cell phone near the end of the first half. It looked like I was calling in a bombing run on the VC. I did the unthinkable and called my brother (an '83 Clemson grad) and talked shite at halftime. Sorry. My wife and I passed it around so I think like 20 people in our section made long distance calls on that phone.
True story
My parents had tickets right in front of the coaches box at Scott, went to that game , they scored on a long run down the sidelines right before halftime, Kirby got hurt and the rest was history. Any way after we went 27-0 I turned to the coaches and yelled hang 50 on those mfers!! As I had seen them hang 55 on us at field level.
I donât think many people realized at the time what a once in a lifetime opportunity it was to watch UVA vs UNC with Sampson Worthy Perkins and Jordan all on the same floor. Name another ACC game(s) with that level of talent playing.
100% with you on that one. At Bobby Dodd in '98 when we coughed up a 17-point fourth quarter lead sucked majorly as well. That '98 team was two blown leads in Atlanta (we coughed up a 21-point lead to Quincy Carter and them Dawgs in the Peach Bowl) away from a Top 10 finish that year.
Youâre right, it was Smith. We could have had all 4.
You know what else is crazy, we thought we had a good shot at Chris Mullin to come in and replace Jeff Lamp. He ended up at St. Johns and we got Tim Mullen. Back then when all we had were a few rags on recruiting, I used to mix the two up. I was thinking we had landed Chris.
Someone will log on after work, see something like 100+ posts since this morning, have their heart skip a beat, then scroll through recruiting memory lane looking for the Kon postâŠ.
I remember Holland having some pretty set in stone substitution patterns at the different timeouts. I remember Holland sitting frosh Sheehy at his âscheduledâ break against a Terp team that couldnât stop him and screaming my ass off about it.
