Looks like they’re coming back… sign is up again!
Maggie’s Midtown (old Blue Moon Diner space) was very very good tonight. Very well polished in terms of the whole experience for a new restaurant. Potato leek soup with chili oil and white miso was a standout.
I’ve been in mourning since Blue Moon closed, and have been avoiding Maggie’s out of associated sadness. Glad to hear its good, I need to give it a try.
I am a bad Cville-ian and never went to Blue Moon (devoted Bluegrass Cafe customer, RIP), but I get it. But it’s very good, even if a bit pricey (but not C&O/Fleurie tier of cost). They’re gonna offer a British-style Sunday Roast, so that will be fun to try too.
Interesting article about that place (which for me was Espresso Corner, in the heyday of Friends-inspired coffee shops)
During the Espresso Corner days, I knew a guy who was in a jazz trio and had a gig there one night.
He was in charge of transporting the group’s instruments and equipment.
So he parked up on the sidewalk to unload everything. Idiot then forgot to move his car from the sidewalk after unloading.
After the gig, he got to know one of Cville’s finest tow outfits to get his car back.
I dont know if anything is worse as an era than everything you just typed
I’ll mark you as a “no” for the 30-year anniversary of the improv comedy troupe
Throwback - used to be a car club around here back in the day with that name
Yes please, along with any wedding invites haha
Good setup for Name That Restaurant, with no clear identifying details in the pic:

If you can name the couple under the portrait at the end then you are next next level
Wait, you really know them? Impressive
Deborah and Bill
Winner
Hahhaa. Got ya, or not. I would give them NIL however for their Name Image and CVille Authenticness
Figured out the answer from some Googling: Sedona Taphouse
This could be a generic student dining hall or the dining area of a free hotel breakfast buffet.
What? That really does not look like Sedona Taphouse, unless its way in back somewhere.
