Lubin is definitely one I was watching for before the Portal went wild, had started to assume he’d stick at ND. Only worry is he’s looking for a starting role and Dunn/Minor may have him blocked out here. Would be a great option to lock up the post rotation though, especially if Stevenson doesn’t work out as a '23.

I didn’t notice him much for ND. Can he be a 5 or strictly a 4?
I’d say he can play both, assuming you’re okay with UVA’s commitment to small ball. Played mostly 4 for ND last year, though they inverted a lot with Laszewski as a stretch 5. Not a lot of range on his jumper. But good size and hits the glass hard.

Seems a little redunndant for us
Don’t think he’s redundant unless we know for a fact Stevenson is coming this summer. We’ve got only three bigs on the roster right now: Dunn, Minor, and Blake. Lubin could be the fourth, in that same slot we had Jennings penciled in for, which I think is the baseline number you want to go in with there.

Even if Stevenson commits I wouldn’t say it’s redundant in terms of their role or position in the rotation, more just a roster number crunch. If the staff is pitching Jarin on being the next Trey Murphy that means he’d be a wing here, I think realistically you could play him, Dunn, and Lubin at the 3/4/5 if it worked out that we got both of them. But that would also be using all of our available schollys next year depending on what happens with our backcourt recruiting.

Tech board says Lubin wants to play more of a permiter role.
This might be a hot take, but I’d wait out on Stevenson. allow him to come next year if he wants to open playing time, and if not, I think you’re okay. Play Buchanan a lot and small ball lineups with Bond at the 4, if they’re comfortable with that. I know it’s thin but I honestly think we’d be okay.
Only exception to that is if a Traudt type guy opens up….. which at this stage I think it’s highly unlikely.
