Man what is happening at Rutgers? They’ve had a recent revival but maybe the NIL in nonexistent
You ever been to New Brunswick NJ?
Oof, it’s one of those places that’s close-ish to a big city but too far away to be a suburb. Imagine getting to NYC takes like 1.5 hours and $20 in tolls.
Little less but the train is actually real easy ha. And yea the tolls are real if you drive it
But I mostly mean the players being stuck in New Brunswick ha
Yes I’ve been to the city dump.
Most non descript campus ever really
Some Rutgers fans on Twitter seem to be very mad at Karl Hobbs, who left the assoc HC position at Rutgers for the same position at GTech this spring, as they lost a different 4 star commit to GTech.
I also saw an interesting article on them losing Cam Spencer that implied that Spencer became more valuable as a transfer target post-portal because he was a grad transfer. I guess the logic there is that if a team didn’t like what it saw left in the portal once it closed, they might give a good grad transfer a better offer than they would have before, because that’s who else could be available.
That is true. Been up there to coach rugby when I was at UD and remember being completely unimpressed.
Can’t imagine pitching recruits on being a commuter train ride away from NYC. I think they got an uptick in recruiting from recent success but then kids figured out that it sucks there
Yea man. And if they are pitching anything NYC related it is an stretch at best or straight up lie ha
Same. Played in a showcase baseball tournament there. It’s meh. Really enlightened me as to why so many northeast kids go to SEC or ACC schools. Prettier campuses, better weather, big student body and sports, a better experience overall tbh.
Yea can’t imagine that anyone at Rutgers is pitching NYC unless it’s a NYC kid and they are pitching proximity to home. That be like UD pitching access to D.C.

Visits to G-League teams are super funny to me.
Great analogy there for sure. The proximity to players in that area is the reason its baffling Rutgers is not consistently better.
I will stand by “have you ever been to New Brunswick” for the reason
Wow. Never knew that existed. Thats funny
I generally have warm feelings for Rutgers, it being the flagship state university of my home state, BUT the anecdote that really sums up Rutgers is that they named themselves after a guy who donated some money who then wound up donating a significantly larger sum to Columbia.
Yea, they have the location but nothing else really fits. I also remember their facilities being subpar as of a few years ago.
It also doesn’t help that they aren’t even the flagship basketball program in their state.
London Johnson on the visit: this is the slot machine where I learn about probability. This is the craps table where I study human psychology…
Some cool history there that I never knew. Cool wiki on Colonel Rutgers
I would think he would just go to the comedy shows for funny stories
