Interestingly enough Bama still isn’t the official destination for Grant Nelson, was never formally announced by either the school or the player (maybe a transcript thing?), so maybe the front court is super wide open.
And therein is the crux, he went to the only destination with minutes available.

This is true of some sites, but the predominant attitude around here is generally something like “I love Coach Bennett but here are 10 things he does wrong (none of them will surprise you)”

Offered on his official visit to duke (ongoing right now). Most likely going to reclass to 2023 and start alongside filipowski.

Not particularly. It was never clear that Virginia was the front runner to land Keels before Duke got involved. It was a 50/50 tossup between us and Nova
And even if what you say is true, the fact that UNC was UVA in this situation makes it very different from the Keels recruitment for the purposes of this conversation, as UVA was UVA in the Keels recruitment

There was definitely some manipulation going on to drum up offers and interest (don’t hate the player, hate the game). In hindsight, I’m wondering how much that uva visit was actually meant to stir the pot and get Carolina to play their hand.
At the end of the day, I don’t think Stevenson was a good fit for what either side was looking for so probably better to not force a square leg into a round hole. We’ll see how things work out.

I guess the Lively-Flip pairing worked for them, but I don’t totally understand their reluctance to have Flip as the full-time 5 and sliding Mitchell up to the 4 where his skill set is a more natural fit.

IMO Duke needs** a true big to beat about 5 teams in the country, but they are probably going to have to beat one or more of those 5 teams to win a natty: Edey/Purdue, Dickinson/Kansas, etc
