Hooandtrue Dream Recruit Jaiden Glover to St Johns and Rick Pitino (soon to be announced). More importantly that means Villanova literally missed on EVERYONE they offered and prioritized this 2024 cycle. Ive never seen a school do so horrible recruiting wise. It’s similar to 2017 UVA recruiting but we were struggling because we had a loaded 2016 class whereas villanova will have so many open scholarships to fill with the transfers and 5th years and mark armstrong maybe all gone.
To quote one fan there “sort of a disturbing high school recruiting season”
Matthew Hodge and Malcolm Thomas are literally the only person left in play for them with a Villanova scholarship.
Their dream class would have been Bliss Bethea Glover Edgecombe and Hodge.

Jalil Bethea to Miami according to Trilly. Good get for Larranaga. Strong Philly connections on the Miami Staff and Jalil Bethea always struck me as a higher ceiling Isaiah Wong: ball dominant scorer.

The Miami collective seems to be stepping up to fill the Ruiz vacuum.
It’s a real interesting model. The wacko first mover lays the groundwork, shows how things can be successful, and then other donors move in, to make it more legit.
(Or maybe … I don’t know).

It should also be mentioned that Bethea is signed with Klutch sports so that may have helped with the Miami landing spot? idk

Ah, interesting. I think Nick Smith was Klutch, and the KY kid is, too (the center? forget his name). There seem to be whispers that they will get held out for minor stuff.
Rich Paul seems to be well respected, but I don’t know. Might not be in those kids’ interest to pull that…

I dont consider any team landing Boogie Fland a “recruiting win” lol. I think last I saw it was Indiana and Kentucky for Fland but probably outdated info.
Apparently Fland wants to play with Cadeau at UNC, but UNC isn’t reciprocating interest back. A lot of Caleb Love trauma probably
Glover is going to announce to St Johns soon. Curtis Givens isn’t trending to Nova in the slightest.

Cadeau is the piece Carolina has been missing past few years, pure 100% point guard. RJ is good but he’s not a true PG. Heels could be very good

Agreed. This is should be Davis’ year. The roster has a bunch of useful pieces and actually looks well put together, if anything I feel like UNC is being slightly underrated. If they suck again this year, its entirely on Davis.

Yes they could be. But 247 Heels are saying Cadeau will be the best PG in the ACC. He’ll be good but there are some good PGs in the league this year, especially defensively. Proctor and Beekman come to mind.

Best in the ACC is a high bar. If he’s top 5 ish they’ll be really good. Let RJ do RJ stuff, not run an offense

Yea I think Cudeau is for sure college and ACC ready but remains to be seen if he will immediately be elite. My guess is it will take some time for him

Yeah, I mean, RJ is a solid secondary ball-handler. Pairing him with an actual floor general instead of Love pretending to the point guard is going to be big win for them. I don’t think Cadeau will be elite by ACC standards, but I think he’ll be solid, and be elite by ACC freshman standards.

In Jamie Shaw’s on3+ on Bethea, he reiterates the same info as Trilly (Miami soon) but mentions Duke is pushing for a visit which is interesting. Surprised nothing public has been mentioned with Duke and Bethea but I remember Bethea’s name coming up first on teh Duke boards when Harper wasn’t happening (not VJ or Kon).
