I looked it up today. He really did and Boheim took over with really good players and had immediate success. Crazy how long he has been the coach like K

One of my favorite trends of recent recruiting is #fanswithsources. Random fans that pretend to have “sources” or are “hearing rumblings” from friends of friends. The latest example is this poster from the 247 Tech board:
I don’t have sources per sey but my family is connected to the administration. Based on what I just heard I’d be shocked if he picked IU. Sounds like M Young’s SC connections are too strong
The leap from “I don’t have sources” to basically being shocked if he doesn’t pick VT just cracked me up. Then their insider and others come in and basically contradict everything he says lol. But maybe that’s good for Tech since their “insider” has been wrong more than he’s right. That just cracked me up this morning.
EDIT: this is about Noah Clowney, their top remaining target. Sounds like he’s going to IU and Tech will miss out on all but 1 of their top targets, who they only got because of hiring this kid’s HS coach. But hey, they did throw out like 200 offers so there’s probably more out there

They are about to wind up with just Rice out of all their top options. And they only got him because they hired his high school coach and probably guilt tripped him into committing. Fun to watch
And because Louisville is a hot cluster right now.

Only reason he didn’t go to Louisville. He was theirs until they hired his HS coach and even still he almost went there but didn’t because of the looming sanctions
What’s been going on with VAL’s (Lubin) recruitment? I loved that kids upside but haven’t heard anything about him in a while.
Sounds like we’ll see him in the ACC. Think ND is favorite with Clemson and GT up there

I thought Wessler was more of a true 5? I think they still want Clowney badly but looks like he’s gone. CBs to IU. Kind of a disappointing class for them unless they snag Lubin just given what they thought was gonna happen (missed on Ward Nickel and Assuming Clowney)
Techsideline has a poster, GCHokie34, who I think is either a college coach or former college coach, who appears to be well connected and garners the most respect on their Board. That’s my go to source for a fairly objective opinion on Tech basketball. He’s very down on Wessler (major project with little upside) and not very positive about Lubin either, despite his top 100 composite ranking on 247. He describes Lubin as not being a playable option for at least two years because he’s very raw skills-wise.

Yeah he’s a good poster. Definitely too bullish on adding their targets but otherwise levelheaded

GCHokie34 does like Rice a lot though and thinks Clowney would be a significant recruit, if they can pull it off. Like everyone else at Tech, he was very disappointed about Nichols to UNC.
He was a student manager on the team around 15 years ago… but he is very well connected. I believe anything he reports as opposed to the 247 Chris Arvin… who doesn’t always know what he is talking about.
