Outside UVa Recruiting

Yep beard is hated more than isis here in Lubbock and the mullet kid committed to Illinois, they have to be dropping bags as well.

Yep he called TT his dream job until his other dream job opened up.

Shocker that Jeff Goodman loves the guy. I had no idea of the Beard hate

Amani Hansberry, the draymond green type kid I like, said this in an interview when asked about his recent Virginia Tech and Penn State official visits: “I love them both - especially Penn State.” LMAO. Sounds like he is Penn State bound, was pretty blunt that Villanova hasnt been in contact at all with him since they hired Neptune. Goes in line with Neptune wanting to change things up from the usual Villanova small ball.

Didn’t VT hire that DeMatha coach to get DMV players? lol

Rupp Rafters is always fun during events like this (kid said he was going to redshirt this year and then play for them next season, they banked on that, and then he got draft eligible and was like thanks for the free year of developments and your facilities bye now).

lol. Calipari haters are out in force. Calipari getting fired would make it harder for us to snag Reed Sheppard in the portal though

No chance Kentucky coaches actually expected Sharpe to play there. Kinda screwed up they let fans believe it though.

Also is this the first starting 5 that is all international players? I went to their board to see why they weren’t all in on that Cody Williams kid who is from Arizona and one guy said “Doesn’t have a serbian accent”.

Didn’t realize there was a chance we’d see Mr. Keels again

Trevor Keels first year didn’t go as planned. He was always a 2, maybe 3 year player.

While he is a big guard… he’s not very athletic.

I think it went better than planned. He was not on draft boards going into the season and now he is.

But the trajectory was odd. He went from off boards, to gaining buzz in the preseason, to late lottery-ish after the Kentucky game. But then he kept slipping, and now it seems he’s early second (Vecenie has him 32 on his latest big board).

So while 32 is not great compared to late lottery, it’s pretty darn good compared to where he was a year ago – not really ranked.

For anyone interested, Keels trajectory in Vecenie’s boards / mocks:

  • Aug 7, 2021 mock draft - NR
  • Oct 18 2021 mock draft - NR
  • Nov 9 2021 big board - NR
  • Nov 26 2021 mock draft - 17
  • Jan 6 2022 mock draft - 18
  • Jan 26 2022 big board - 25
  • Feb 17 2022 mock draft - 26
  • Mar 10 big board - 24
  • Apr 1 mock draft - 31
  • May 2 big board - 32
  • May 17 mock draft - 31

To me, the story is pretty clear. He wasn’t an NBA prospect, then he became one, but his spot was a little bubbly, and now he’s settled at the top of the second round.
