I put the other thread to rest, too long to keep up.
May god send us news of a bountiful recruiting harvest to fill this one like the last
I went away for a week then got busy for a week and came back to over 2500 unread posts between the 2 threads. I was afraid to open either one. Still haven’t.
Thank you for this reset.
What’s crazy is that you sort of didn’t miss anything
Really appreciate the nod to the true Hoos.
My Man!!!
And I think there’s no question that Hoo fans will love Gertrude and Lang coming out of this crazy transition. In an era of mercenaries, these guys stayed at UVA through 2 coaching changes… that’s gonna make them automatic fan favorites, deservedly so.
Yep! And Gertrude, I’m not the expert, but if healthy his bag will play REAL well in Odom’s system.
And if they stay they will have long term benefits and connections through Wahoo networks that all these mercenaries won’t have…
Agents being so involved now are so focused on the now $$ they are snot advising their clients well at all about life after college (C League) - DavetheWave trademark pending - basketball…
I even wonder about mercenaries who help a team go very far like Gillis or Brown at Duke or Nigel Pack for Miami… is he even gonna be a thought to any Miami alums five or 10 years from now?
Maybe he will as that is their only final four in history.
It’s still early days, but does anyone who is paying attention beyond Virginia have a good read on either:
- The teams that have a really well built roster for next season
- The teams that are struggling mightily
I admit I have zero sense of what other rosters are looking like, both in terms of completeness and quality.
Villanova and Gonzaga seem to be in some trouble.
NC State struggling too. Fans getting antsy. Reid and Scott would help a lot but they still have a lot of holes.
Miami getting a lot of talent on paper. Clemson’s roster puzzles me with lots of bigs but short on guards.
Okay, this is nine guys. That means we have six spots open. Ugonna Onyenso takes one, hopefully Terrance Arceneaux takes the second, Rakease Passmore the third, Malik Thomas the fourth (fingers crossed!)… that means recruit two more guys for the 4/5 big man roles hard while this logjam sorts itself out? At what point do we move on from Thomas? What is Arceneaux and Passmore’s decision timeline? What traction do we actually have with Federiko, Owusu-Anane, and Baba Miller? We find out if Johann Grünloh enters the NBA Draft by Saturday… is it friggin ON if he doesn’t?
Wondering if Passmore is waiting on Arceneaux & Thomas. He commits if neither ends up here…he goes elsewhere if we get either or both.
VERY short on guards
I think Notre Dame may take a big step forward this year. Very little portal activity, kept most of their pieces, should have better injury luck. Doing it the old way
