This is kind of a trick question for me though. My real answer - for my particular tastes - is Turks in Germany. So maybe I should vote Germany, but Iāve got to give the nod to the origins.

I am very partial to the UK chicken kebab with their red sauceā¦ the white sauce on the German sauce is awful in my opinion. I did like the German DurĆ¼m kebab better than the German Dƶner kebab. The Iraqi one was interesting because it would be like a meat straw as they would skewer the schwarma through the middle, so there is this weird hole. Turkish ones are really goodā¦ especially in the Ottoman areas that you can get the Ottoman stew along with it.
ā¦ and how do you pronounce Gyro correctly? Nobody knows.

They are different though. The Turks in Germany have actually catered to the German palate and use shaved pork in their kebabs. The Turkish kebabs are all shaved lamb.

But I mean, isnāt it your choice what sauce you put on? And at least at my spot in Berlin, if I remember right, there were two white sauces and a red (one more garlicky sauce, one yogurt based, and then the red with the heat). Iād get em all but was definitely at your discretion.
