Lajae Jones and Thomas Bassong from FSU both hit the portal. Jones needs a waiver for another year but I think he has a case without needing the eligibility to go to 5 years. Heās played four with one being at a JUCO.
Bassong was initially set to, and wanted to return to the Seminoles program, as announced on social media and in a press conference with local media after his standout freshman season.
According to sources, after verbally agreeing to terms, which prompted the social media announcement of his return, the two sides couldnāt finalize an agreement on a new deal before the deadline to enter the portal, which is Tuesday, April 21.
Status check as of portal closure:
- Retention - 100%**. Kept everyone we could. Gives us 4 likely starters and 1-2 likely rotation guys (from Elijah, Silas, Martin).
- Portal - nothing. Two visitors (right? Cloer and Fiegen?), both committed elsewhere. Nobody that we have a visit with (publicly known) or are publicly pursuing.
- HS - Nothing. We arenāt bringing in anyone / havenāt flipped anyone yet.
Stay tuned, but itās an odd situation we seem to be in (āoddā meaning: HR on retention, but we havenāt been able to bring anyone in yet).

Seems to be smoke around a rotational big from europe Michael Ruzic. Looks like he would be a good pickup. Would complete our front court assuming Barksdale can be that rotational 4 (different strengths).
