🏀 PORTAL SEASON (UVa Offseason) 2026

I also want long-limbed defensive athletes that can pressure the ball (so Chance doesn’t have to exhaust himself), even if they’re not a great shooter.

It is also FairWeatherHoo who posted a day or two before Dixon that it was coming. Someone said it was international. Who knows? Michael Revzic (spelling) would be awesome. Someone also was talking about a Spainard guard that is young and can play.

It is neither but would be a real good addition

Who is it? Sounds like a big

Hints sound like Luke Bamgboye. Texas Tech, was at VCU his Freshman year with Odom.

Bit of a downgrade from Ugonna

Looks like he visited NC St too

Ugo wasn’t coming here off a great season. Bamgboye is not a former 5 star recruit but he has good potential. He would be a solid addition addressing a need.

still need at least one combo guard to fill out the playable guard rotations. We need at least 5 to man the rotation for the 1-3 spots.

As I said in the other chat, Bam has had a significantly better career as of today than Ugo did as of a year ago today.

Obviously Ugo took a big step forward

Still need a starter at the 2 also

My gut tells me the staff is going to aim higher for a starting 2 but would be fine with Dixon as the fall back.

I think a big part of Ugo’s year here was scheme and role. Massive credit to Coach Odom. Bam can 100% take a similar step in a similar role. I don’t expect him to be Ugo, but I also expect Johann to be even better so it’ll balance out for sure.

At this point I think Dixon actually gives the staff the ability to take the best they can get at the 2 or 3 and I think they’ll continue to swing accordingly.

Ugo was totally lightning in a bottle and anyone expecting similar production from our backup center is setting unrealistic expectations. As said, Bam is a great get for that role. Lots of teams out there would love Bam as a starter.

I would see that as a massive failure. We have an opportunity to make a big impact. Dont think we can just count on progression to get over the top.

When our four other starters are Chance Mallory, Sam Lewis, TDR, and Johann Grünloh, we can afford for the SG to be the weakest link. I’d like to see us get a big name too but I’m not gonna flip shit if we don’t. Yall move the goalposts every other day I swear
