Believe there’s a prior relationship with one of the assistants. You have any clue what McNeil might be looking for?
Williford was the one went to see McNeil but that’s Getter territory now.
He has a wild back story. Quit at Bellarmine before ever playing, then went to junior college as a regular student. He’s gotta be 24 by now.
I understand it - maybe some of us have selective memory supporting each of our own recollections.
Look here at the first offensive play or the 2nd one … or the 3rd… ofr the 5th … -
Why are you even allowed in this “positive” thread?
Just ruins every thread bashing Tony or Clark. You never know what you are going to get. And then when he gets called out with his bunk stats he posts two plays of anecdotal evidence to take a shot at both! Lol
Dave the Wave……of negativity
I crack myself up.
edited the message - changed to simply positivity about Tomas’ ballhandling. And you obviously didn’t watch the whole tape to say 2 plays of Tomas… He was the best P and R player that year that I saw.
@DavetheWave is the maestro of analytics. HE is the reason I asked the percentage question about analytics vs. eyeball test. Embrace the diversity of thought! He has good stuff! By the way, I lift the toilet seat 93.37456% of the time. DTW is a Celtics fan so its all good in my book!
Hilarious too - people saying I’m negative when it wasn’t me saying Tomas was not a good ball handler and offense creator for others.
Just watch the tape all the way through.
So hey, how bout transfers this cycle.
@HoozGotNext do think we are past the exploratory phase with any of these guys yet or are we awaiting final calls from our guys first?
And I’m really not an analytics guy - I am a video breakdown guy 1st … was part of my job as an assistant coach and and was part of my job as a college official. I like checking the data and analytics to see if my film breakdown was matching it and vice versa. Has helped keep me in check if it didn’t.
From what I’ve heard I doubt we get past exploratory until the Friday announcement.
FIU junior Tevin Brewer has entered the transfer portal.
Brewer, a 5’8” guard averaged 15.2 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 5.6 assists per game. Shot 43% from the field, and 40% from 3.
That’s how its supposed to be done. Small sample sizes probably either falsely endorse or falsely penalize players. At what point do you start to trust the eye vs. analytics test? is a minute limit or a game limit? Curious because I’m so bad at that stuff.
Hopefully we get one of the visits.
I just feel like the transfer portal is a mulligan for coaches when they mis-evaluate players. I guess I have to embrace it and change with the times! (that sounded mildly positive for the sake of this thread)
I like to also think of it as a mulligan for players as well. Sometimes you land at a spot that just doesn’t fit you and you don’t know it until you’re there living day in and day out. Maybe you’re a southern kid and you realized winters at Cuse are too much, or your a city kid and find out Columbus is still too small time for you.
And when Columbus is too small time, you go play in Cinci
D@mn right X gonna get ya.
Edit: That felt dirty even typing… I’m gonna go take a shower
