Jahvon can’t makes threes? He got any eligibility left?
Is that an actual quote by Oats or just the burner guy? Ha
Jelly fams gotta be pissed.
Actual quote – to the Almanac, the Field of 68’s (Dauster, Goodman, 3 Man Weave, et al) new blue ribbon yearbook competitor
More:
“Quinerly was also a part of the biggest problem Alabama had a year ago. The
Tide finished the season ranked sixth in 3s attempted per game. They also
finished the season 303rd in 3-point percentage. Quinerly shot 28.5 percent
from deep in 2021-22.
“If you’re going to be top-10 in the nation in 3s taken, you have to be better
than 303rd in percentage. That doesn’t jive,” Oats said.”
““We had guys last year that played with the sole purpose of improving their draft stock. If your whole
reason for being at Alabama is improving your draft stock, it’s going to go backwards. If you help us
win games, your draft stock will go up.” —Nate Oats”
(though I think the second one is about JD Davison more than Quinerly)
Thats funny. Jhavon was MVP of SEC tourney the year before I think. Maybe Oats is directly calling him out for not putting work in
Seems to be trying to light a fire under him, but that stuff can definitely backfire. Or it could be Oats just being a jerk. He has that aspect to him.
I didnt realise he still has eligibility
Tony’s quotes, fwiw (taken out of context)
“Last year was interesting because I felt as though we got close to our potential. We got a game away
from New York in the NIT. … Even though it wasn’t the best season we’ve had, it was still valuable by
a lot of measures.” —Tony Bennett
“I was surprised when he told me he wanted to come back at the end of the year and use
his extra COVID year,” Bennett said of Clark. “But he loves college.”
The 6-11 Shedrick is a redshirt junior who averaged 6.9 points and 5.1 rebounds
per game, and also gives the Cavaliers an imposing shot-blocker.
Bennett said he’s gotten stronger in the offseason, and that should make him more effective
this season.
“We have to take a step defensively,” Bennett said.
“We added Ben, and some talented young guys,” Bennett said. “Now we’ll
have more depth and more competition for playing time. That’s what you
want. We didn’t have that last year.”
Decent publication - 19.99.
Same year/situation as Kihei - Covid 5th year
Tony saying we almost got to our ceiling last year is basically him saying we were pretty devoid of talent last year. We all knew it, but is interesting to hear him basically say “yeah… we weren’t very good”.
Waiting for that practice video to drop today…estimate is 52 secs long
But it will be in slo mo so 22 actual seconds?
But Maine, if I recall correctly, that’s essentially what Tony was saying before the season and for the entire first half of the season, isn’t it? We weren’t very good. It was hard to watch. But then we started to play well toward the end of the season.
This here is good content:
Much more positive than Oats, but, to be fair, there’s a backhanded observation from Tony about the three M’s in there, with the we didn’t have depth or competition for playing time last year.
Wacky idea of the day - could LRA finance some sort of video editing firm to splice together ALL of the Italy clips that have been released? I’d contribute a few bucks.
@hoopsandhoos used to do stuff like that (e.g., put together Taine clips from FIBA), but is working for Streaking the Lawn these days. Need someone younger than 40 who understands technology, so I’m doubly out.

RSN 2-step for the cupcakes (NC-Central, Monmouth, and BC-2x … sorry BC …), but otherwise it’s all ESPNs and ACCN.
