Massive over-analyzation #1: Traudt setting a blocker screen then immediately flaring to the perimeter for a 3 is something we weren’t really able to do last year. That action alone would give us so much more spacing offensively.
Only one walk-on on the roster - Chase Coleman - who could play on schollie a lot of places.
BVP was late getting to Traudt and is super mobile at the 4 or 5 spot. Imagine opposing 5’s trying to get out to Traudt or BVP in games?
2B. BVP having to close out on Traudt opened the lane for Taine to immediately crash the front of the rim and get the put back. Can we please have real threes play the 3 position this year? Taine - a natural 3 - easily rebounded over Armaan and Dunn who are not ACC level 3’s. Franklin won’t be and Dunn isn’t there yet. We need our three men to be natural rebounders.
If that’s Traudt’s misses all year? Holy touch Batman!
Tristian How practiced last year, even traveled with the team. I heard him referred to as a walk on redshirt. There’s a guard too whose name escapes me now. Pretty sure I’ve mentioned them on here before. I assume they were just full on walk ons last year so they didn’t dress.
I think what opened the lane for Taine to grab the board is Bond (who had switched onto Taine) got caught ball-watching, which is totally understandable and par for the course for a true frosh who just got to campus a few days ago. (plus obviously there’s context that we are not getting)
All true - but go back and look - the exact spot Taine filled was the spot BVP vacated to get out to Traudt. If that’s Sheds or Papi getting the ball, BVP stays in the lane and gobbles up that board … BVP playing the role of an opposing big.
After missing the tourney last year, will this be the most excited crowd the blue white scrimmage has ever had? I can already hear the roar after McKneely knocks down his first triple
