Dulles to Auckland. One stop in SF. 19 hours.

Does Taine really want to go to a school set in the Blade Runner 2049 universe?

43 minute drive from Dulles to College Park. 1 hour 59 minutes to C’ville, so we’re screwed there too.

I mean that wasn’t an issue for Salt or Statmann. Of course not everyone is the same though

I kind of doubt the kid is making a decision based upon travel time between home and school. I don’t think he plans to go home on weekends.

Wait a second EST? Aren’t we in EDT? So is it really 3:30 am? Maybe he’s not Stanford material :joy:

Has anyone just straight up asked Keels where he is going? Seems like taboo.

It would be hilarious if he just answered and was like ā€œFinally somebody just asked!ā€

I think Taine isn’t worried about when his commitment time was in the states. He’s doing it at 630pm his time :man_shrugging:t2:

Was talking to @Benrekosh about it, was selfishly hoping he’d try to appeal to his future fan base with the time lol

FWIW, Stanford insider has said that ā€œthings are not leaning Stanford’s way here, but we shall seeā€ in regards to Murray

Did Tony walk up at 11:59:59 right before the clock struck 12 and say ā€œHol up, defending national champ here. Here’s a collection of every Joe Harris highlight, Get back to me when you doneā€?

Where did you see that? Just wondering. They’re boards are pretty inactive.

their 247 board.

One thing that seems not to have been discussed is Stanford’s head coach. I know nothing about Mr. Haase – and certainly will presume him to be competent and convivial – but is he remotely in the same coaching echelon as CTB? Could ask the same thing about Mr. Turgeon. Point is, CTB (as opposed to Mr. Penney) is perhaps, and always has been, our true Hoo ace in the hole – especially if he has been 1-on-1 involved in the Murray recruitment. Just sayin’.

Tony in terms of his accomplishment and his character combined is 2nd to none. But Tony and UVA aren’t for everyone. Haase is a solid coach and will have a talented roster that Murray could see himself complimenting nicely. Also in several interviews Murray has mentioned pace and maybe that is being used against us, which would lead to Joe Harris highlights showing how a shooter of his caliber can operate in our system. We aren’t the only school that produces NBA talent. Heck Standford has a combo guard slated to go first round this year.

How often are there announcements like this where no one really knows the choice? It’s cool and kind of refreshing to not have crystal balls and tweets coming in ruining the suspense. I’m sure I’d feel differently if I was a coach but assume they all know the verdict (privately).

While I certainly hope we get Murray, Stanford makes sense for a lot of reasons. UVa might make more sense, but Stanford wouldn’t be a bad pick. Now Maryland on the other hand…

For what it’s worth. Might be moot come Sunday
