That is 100% a mauler job. Caffaro was born for this.
From a poster on the Sabre. Since Dave/Fred can never link or source
As someone who has suffered several hamstring injuries of various degrees, I can tell you that only the mildest of hamstring pulls can heal in 10 days. Even a moderate Grade 1 can take three weeks or more. A moderate Grade 2 strain takes 6-8 weeks. A Grade 3 strain (or tear) can take up to three months.
The good news is: If the team is saying there’s a chance – no matter how remote – that he might play, it probably means they consider it mild, because if it were more severe they wouldn’t even be entertaining notions of rushing him back by Saturday.
Honestly, I’d be thrilled but surprised if he played against Houston. I’d be equally thrilled but only slightly less surprised if he played against Miami. Our chances in either game obviously take a tumble without him, but I think we’re still capable of winning both.
I’m gonna call BS on that Sabre post. Many exams were moved online in aftermath of the shooting and today is the last full day of exams. I think the odds of him being out walking to an exam this morning are pretty remote. That poster is also very negative often… and is definitely not a student so unless he has a source I’m not buying it
Not saying Reece is fine, just that I don’t believe this random guy
And its been raining all day in Charlottesville.
I would agree with this if I had any faith that there is any real substance to what our coaches say about injury timelines, haha. Our coaching staff is about as secretive as they come. They seem to hate putting out any info that could help an opponent plan or really for any reason at all. I think a doctor could have told Reece there’s practically no chance he plays in the next few games, but our coaches would say “We certainly hope he’ll be available - he might play”.
I’m not saying I’m more pessimistic or optimistic than anybody else, I just put very little stock in what our coaches say on stuff like this. I love them - and am not criticizing them - just how I approach it.
Also Reece already walks like an old man when he’s 100% healthy.
or
They seem to hate putting out any info … period.
There are plenty of coaching staffs around the country that let very little info out. I don’t see it as an issue.
Let’s rest the young man, as much as I want him to play and lock up Sassers arse on Saturday much rather him be healthy so I can see them again in a few months down the road in Houston where we will be handing out Benjamin’s with his face on it
Wahoowa
Also kinda like the idea of throwing Isaac and Dunn directly into the fire against a top flight defensive team. Might be painful at times on Saturday but it has a chance to pay dividends come March when they’ll be fully battled tested.
Ha ha, my exact first thought, too.
I’m officially filing a formal request for Reece to shoot more. He’s 9/20 on the year from 3. If you’re still shooting 45 percent this far into the year you need to be taking more than ~2 threes a game.
Especially without the quick first step/driving ability he normally has when fully healthy.
Saw this pic on Reddit a couple hours ago. Obviously they nailed VA but not choosing Taevion Kinsey for WV is a massive blunder.
Saw that posted on Reddit. Got into it in the comments with some tech fans who were claiming Pedulla is better
Gonna be hilarious to see what that guy says when Pedulla shoots 2-10 against us after getting locked down by Beeks.
He’s not even the best player on his team. That would be Justyn Mutts. And neither is better than Beekman.
