Is screenshotting most of a subscription article from a competitor site something that counts as media content nowadays?
yes
But you have to add “thoughts?” to the screenshots to really make it your own.
This is “eyeballs emoji” erasure.
Based on Reece’s play since he supposedly recovered from the hamstring injury, do people on this forum think he’s late 1st/early 2nd rounder? I know practically nothing about grading a college player for draft potential, but I feel like 1st rounders are (1) teenagers with great measurables and demonstrated athleticism and NBA level skills (basically lottery pick), (2) teenagers with great measurables and demonstrated athleticism with strong potential to develop NBA skills, and occasionally (3) older college players with good or better measurables and demonstrated athleticism and NBA skills. I feel like Reece would have to fall in the third category, but he hasn’t yet demonstrated all the skills usually needed to be an NBA point guard, particularly volume high percentage 3 point shooting and ability to create his own shot. So he would be somewhat of an outlier for a late 1st or early 2nd pick (i.e., older player with good measurables and athleticism and potential to develop the necessary NBA skills).
Thats where I see him as well (3). It will really depend on how much importance teams in the draft value his incredible defense and taking care of the ball (low TOs). I really thought in the Michigan game we were witnessing the Reece!! Breakout then the 2 injuries
He is gonna get a real shot for sure but, unless we go Final 4 this year, I think at this point stay for year 4
Based off some of the projections we are seeing for Reece, and more importantly his on the court production, I’d be shocked if he is not back in a Virginia uniform next year. I just don’t see a path for him to the NBA at this moment. He has more questions, about his shooting, his body, his health, his age, than he does answers, his defense, his competitiveness.
Not a knock on Reece, but take off the UVa glasses and what is his signature game? The Illinois game in Nov? That’s not enough to get him into the league, not above a mid-to-low 2nd rounder
If his hamstring injury is still nagging, which to me it almost certainly seems like it is (both because of how hamstring injures heal and how he’s looked game to game), then a very real possibility is him healing up post season and showing scouts early season Reece in evaluations … that’s a problem for us next year.
Lock it in Reeece will be a Hoo nxt year
Man this is too funny. Also the best thing for Reece!!
I hope after the season, CTB will level about just how much Reece’s injury affected him. I imagine he will share that with NBA types.
That’s the thing though. If it really is the hamstring, scouts will know that and if he shows well in workouts after being healthy, the smart ones will evaluate healthy Beekman not the Beekman playing on one leg. That is essentially what I have been concerned about this season. We get the 75 percent healthy version of Reece but he goes to the NBA anyway. If, IF, it is the hamstring.
The smarter teams value staying as far above replacement level at every roster spot for as cheap as possible.
Sometimes you will see media or fans say things like “Hauser isn’t playable in the playoffs”. Let’s say that’s the case. Hauser is good enough to play rotation minutes for one of the best teams in the NBA during the regular season for about 1.6 million. He wasn’t drafted, so no draft capital used. Developed by the Celtics. Rotation minutes on a good team for 1.6 million. That is ridiculous surplus value and the smart teams know it.
Beekman isn’t going to be an NBA star. But say you are a smart NBA team and you offer a two way contract, and you have a good development program, and you think there is a decent shot Beekman can do a fair Gary Payton II impersonation after some development. Lot of potential value there for building roster depth.
Some teams are probably going to look at it that way.
We will see.
Great points, and as you said it is a massive “IF” when it comes to the hamstring. Developing and potential all makes sense when accessing Reece, but scouts are also going to look at his shot making ability. I don’t think he’s shown he can knock down shots at a high enough clip to separate himself from the other 2 dozen guys in similar positions.
Then there’s the question of does it make more sense for Reece to leave early to hopefully get a Gleague/2way undrafted deal and work his way up, or does he run it back with a healthy better built team and work on securing a spot in the draft? Age is going to play into this.
At the end of the day, I know NBA teams draft on potential and love guys they can develop on the cheap, and generally speaking most teams will be able to see through/around a bad hammy to see the real Reece. My concern and thought is the real Reece is very good, but not quite NBA good yet. Even from a developmental prospect, he’s pretty even with a lot of other prospects.
There’s also a line of thought that because of his age Reece needs to be closer to a finished product than a development one. If I’m a team and I can develop a guy I’m likely taking the 19yr old over the 21 year old.
He gone.
This could be a really rough offseason if we get waffle stomped by a 12 seed and then Reece/Franklin leave
Wouldn’t that not realistically be determined until he goes through the pre draft process? I imagine his stock has dropped. Would be going the Kyle Guy level risk if he leaves this year
I’m not even sure he gets an all ACC team. Would be wild to see him declare for the draft. Well, I guess I mean go into the draft
I’d still be surprised if Armaan leaves. Where is he going, Europe, G League at best? Would be better to stick around and be a more focal point of the offense next season to help raise his bar in what looks to be a pretty weak draft next year. Could sneak into the 2nd round like Devon
BVP needs to have a talk with these guys. “What’s your rush to leave college, man? They got girls here, don’t they? Look at me, I’m livin the dream.”
