In all seriousness, in the singular game of Rohdes’ I watched, I think he brought the ball down the court and initiated things like half the time. Maybe I’m remembering incorrectly, but definitely seemed capable. Seemed way more natural in that role than I think I’ve ever seen McKneely be.
Yeah, that’s what I mean. I was just saying he can play that spot, so we probably aren’t bringing in another PG.
Although I still don’t know what to expect from Harris. Will be interested to see what lineups looks like when he’s in versus when somebody like Rohde is at the point. Might be some fun experimentation in the non-con.
If Reece is gone, I wonder who will be the team captain next year? A portal guy? Taine? Not that it matters, but it does show how young/new this team will be.
If it’s truly “almost 100 percent” - then I really wish he’d go the Kyle guy route and rip off the bandaid.
And I feel like the staff would want him to do that too.
The fact that he hasn’t done that yet makes me think the staff feels like there’s at least a shot.
if he’s 100% gone then he should go, he’s handicapping the staff. I assume Reece isn’t trying to sabotage the program, so I assume it’s like 60-40 gone.
The analysis is definitely off. “Impact rookie backup guard” would be a slam dunk for any team picking in the 2nd round, most guys picked in the 2nd (and a bunch picked in the 1st) aren’t going to reach that level in their first season.
Also Reece is a fantastic athlete, and is an elite A:TO
Reece would be projected to be a day one point of attack defender who is careful with the ball. The issue is the offense because GMs might be concerned that Reece has basically no way of scoring in an NBA game because his release is very slow and he is not confident in it and his injury slowed his slashing.
I get ur point @AnonymooseHoo, but I’d say @BDragon is correct here. Reece is a very good athlete for college basketball, but in the NBA if you’re an “elite” athlete at guard you have to be Anthony Edwards or Ja Morant level. Reece is an NBA athlete but he’s probably a fairly average one for a guard
They may not be interested in an impact rookie backup guard if that’s also seen as his ceiling. Even if that’s a slight net gain (turning a 2nd-round pick into a player with potentially some marginal trade value) I think even in the second round NBA teams are looking at potential.
