⛹ Ryan Dunn - Official Thread

I said last night if he stayed at UVa for 4 (maybe even 3) years, he’d be the 2nd best defender in program history, and the best so far of the TB era.

This is what make guys pros (plus natural gifts). It is getting the work you need for your personal game on your own. Not practicing threes during team practice etc

Absolutely that’s the difference maker between relying on talent and hitting a ceiling and going to the next level. Kids hungry

Did you see that story in Money Stuff about the investment banking analyst getting a doctor’s note to have an 8-hour window protected for sleep? And then getting fired for it?

Luckily investment banking is doldrum work (totally unlike lawyering).

But seriously, when I was an aspiring musician, we were always told to make sure you are practicing with good habits. And when you were too tired to have good habits, you needed to give it a rest. Otherwise you will cancel out the good hours by spending all that time developing bad habits

And yeah, this CVP lawsuit will be interesting, not sure how she wins-knew what she was getting into for IB

Mechanically, it seems like there are some opportunities for Dunn to tighten up the jumper for more consistency.

… or when you bite through your lip when you’ve been practicing too long. Hated that.

Or for me, soft palette leak - I literally couldn’t force the air out of my mouth and would end up blowing air out of my nose

It’s a fun time to be a UVA basketball fan. Feels like we’re finally on our way back to having the high end talent we need. Still not there quite yet but McKneely, Bond, Rohde, Buchanan, Gertrude, Robinson, Bliss, Cofie, etc gets me very excited

Let’s talk bottoms. Sammy V had yet another podcast segment on RD, and mentioned that the growth spurt has the bottom end of the shot mucked up still / still catching up.

We think there’s any effect to Elijah similarly from the ACL? Totally different scenario, I know…

For RD he has lots of moving parts in his long jumper. By the time he gets all that length together, starting at the bottom, he proly shoots it at like 10 plus feet at release?

Much easier with arc when you are shorter.

Advantage Haney

I think in medium run for Eli the injury will actually help his long range shots

4 years of eligibility, Tony … plus I watched hoops during Covid so I feel like that should count for another year…

Ah, Investment Banking. What a miserable career. Apologies to any bankers or former bankers here.

I’m sympathetic to her, but… lol. C’mon, this is what you signed up for.

Law, IB, and consulting all have kinda similar patterns. IB certainly pays the best and is inarguably the least fun, though Big Law is putting up a fight. Consulting is just obviously the way to go.

Pick #18 in Givony updated draft today Reece 38

Not sure law is far (or at all) behind now - new salaries this week. Senior associates clearing 500k. First year associates at 250k. And profits per partner at the top 20 or so firms is in excess of 2.5 million a year

Are the Top 20 determined by Kenpom Korvik or AP?
