⛹️‍♂️ Ryan Dunn - Official Thread

Elite leaping ability. I forgot to mention that Dunn can jump out of the gym, so yeah, that’s gonna get someone (actually multiple someones) from the NBA interested.

I get the interest but it’s still surprising to me that someone who can’t shoot still gets drafted 1st round. Would love to get him back

Seems more likely than it did a couple months ago that Ryan is headed for the Reece timeline. Not ideal for us.

Because I’ve seen him play offense and for every 1 athletic play there are 4 no shows or brain farts.

I think RD goes to the league but I think he gets lost in the shuffle he’s simply not ready.

I’ve never really subscribed to the idea that going pro now automatically means better development because you have more time to work.

I think it’s important to remember that at that point everyone is a pro and is working just as hard to earn that dream. Sure more time but there’s a step up to the grown man levels of playing pro league.

Want the best for Ryan but he’s got a big decision to make.

I want the best for Ryan also. The problem to me is I don’t know which is best for him

I worry about him coming back and “proving” that he can’t develop an offensive game. That’s the main reason he should strike while the iron is hot, while he’s still seen as having offensive potential.

But if he’s dropped to the second round… that’s a different calculus.

I worry about this too, from the opposite perspective. Every missed three if RD comes back, I will read three posts saying “see, he’s just trying to impress the scouts” just like I had to read three posts every time he tried and failed to pick up Groves’s trash earlier this season by blocking a shot or whatever saying he was just hot dogging to impress the NBA scouts.

You know what I want? I want a potential NBA first rounder that too online uva hoops fans don’t feel the need to drag at every moment. It’s been two in a row now, with Trey and RD. Is that too much to ask? A: Yes

(But I’m a pessimist because I point out our offense is garbage and Tone doesn’t seem to give a flying F)

:poop: :poop: :poop:

Are we dragging him or just frustrated that he’s hitting 50% of his FTs and 20% of his 3’s?

Believe I answered that already. But the real answer is in all our hearts, I guess

people said this?! very lame

Agree

I do remember someone on here saying Dunn wasn’t that good of a defender. Just flashy and everyone mistook that for “good”.

That should’ve induced a public shaming

100% the advantage of going pro is being able to work with pros on pro things full time

People say a lot of things, me included. No need for shame. I’d just prefer we had an nba draft pick we all liked. Without the “well he could lose a bit of weight” comments or whatnot.

I don’t even know what we’re arguing lol

Nothing makes us happy!

Didn’t know DJ Burns played for uva

DJ needs to put on a few more pounds, opponents can still see a little bit around his torso.

My position is that it will annoy me if RD comes back and misses a three and people say “he’s just trying to impress the scouts.” If your position is that it won’t annoy me, I’m happy to hear the counterpoint. :joy:
