🏀 Ryan Odom Transition

All valid points. Was kinda hoping they’d keep Coach O but doesn’t seem likely now

Imma guess zero players know that meme. But all good

Also I would proly be the best coach in Longwoods conference tomorrow. Real skill is getting the players to believe in what you are doing. Way harder to do at higher levels with better players

I need players to believe in my ability to hand out bags of cash?

You realize he has decades of experience coaching on the AAU circuit? Hell, his ability to connect with players is one of the reasons I’m most excited about him.

Wait how old is this dude? Also, is he related to chuck norris?

Hard for me to understand how anyone could construe poaching a successful sitting D1 coach in Virginia (for associate HC) as anything but a positive. Yes, he may not have been handing out ‘strong-ass offers’ to mercenaries at the low major level, but bro can coach. Stack enough of those on the staff and we’ll do fine

Say it slower this time @DFresh11

Decades of paying dudes to play on a cool AAU team in Texas is way different than his current position(s)

Counterpoint: that’s very similar to his new job. Except we may not be cool lol

I would be more worried if coaching staffs were still limited to three assistant coaches.

Lets slow it down for @WFS_HOO

He coached at @haney s Longwood.

Longwood is beyond irrelevant as you should know.

Tough scene in here tonight. Never meet your heroes, folks. I, too, once dreamed of being a 5’10 white pg.

Maybe your brother was around for the Russell Turner years.

Because our previous TWO associate head coaches were so good at dropping bags lol. That’s why we landed all of those 5* recruits right?

I was kidding about him paying AAU kids.

Shit maybe he is the perfect blend of coach/ GM. I doubt it

I mean I understand the concern with Aldrich not having high major experience as it relates to recruiting, but he’s not gonna be entirely responsible for recruiting.

Doing what he did at Longwood is seriously impressive. I cannot overstate how impressive what he did there was. At the end of the day, I’d rather have excellent pure basketball coaches with 7-9M in NIL to “aid” in recruiting rather than the alternate. That is, hoping experienced high major recruiters can out-recruit other schools. Especially at UVA
