For those who can’t seem to get VPI off their lips.
I wonder if they played Mr. Sandman and shook their keys when he arrived. I bet a monster truck with Franklin’s face on it brought him into the event. The only thing better for HoKeyNation than a football Saturday is three words “Sunday, Sunday, Sunday!” Or a performance by the Piney Mountain Homeboys.
The more I think about Franklin calling Frank Beamer for his “blessing”, the more weirded out I get.
AI predicts Franklins 10 year record at VT. I’ll take the under. Scared to ask the same question for CTE
Or he has the first 4-5 years of increasing success then leverages that for an SEC or B1G gig again.
I don’t see him there longer than 3 years if he’s successful
That’s been my assumption. If Franklin strikes it hot he’ll move on to a B1G or SEC job to follow the money especially with conference realignment looming
If he has increasing success, he’s there for 3 at the most and possibly even 2.
My mom lives in SWVA. She said, “Oh - I heard Tech hired a really great football coach!” Me: “Well that depends on whether you’re talking to a Penn State fan or a Virginia Tech fan.”
I’m not being a jerk here…but… Franklin is a HUGE problem. We can sugarcoat it and be good soldiers, but he is a problem for us. He was in the CFP semi-finals last year.
Not being negative, just stating facts. CTE and coaches need to step up because a bigtime guy just stepped into the state. He will be an issue until he leaves to coach somewhere else. But this should put our coaches and assistants on notice. Let’s step up because we need to.
I think Havs has hyped(insert sexual reference) Franklin no less than 5 times in this thread. Are you his agent or affiliated with his agent? Do you have a Franklin poster in your bedroom?
He definitely has the potential to be. But he was also fired a month ago for not performing up to expectations commensurate with the resources he was given.
The weaker overall conference and lower expectations make it very, very easy for Franklin to be very successful at VPI. He’ll still fail if they make the CFP, but failing in the CFP is a lot better than never getting there.
I was just busting balls. Franklin is a good get for them.
So I said I wasn’t gonna focus too much on Franklin.
I lied.
The size of the airports his team can fly from is apparently a topic that lives rent-free in his head because Penn State teams had to take a 90-minute bus ride to Harrisburg, PA so they could take the cross country flights to California. (Based on comments in the tweets, the airport in Blacksburg is smaller than the one in State College).
This is the guy we’re worried about???

I like Hagans a lot and he’s a fine coach but he’s not been irreplaceable in the slightest
I look at it this way, it’ll be good for the ACC…
I’m selling the doom.
I thought Fields was a lock to go up there and honestly think he would have been a huge help to them. Their WRs were a huge problem this year.
Our in state recruiting has been poor. Tech has just been also poor. That may change with Franklin aboard but who knows. It doesn’t impact our program.
We’ve lost 22 out of 23 (or whatever it is at this point) so tough to even say it impacts the W-L cuz couldn’t get much worse.
