Hope you are right, was just playing the odds without any other knowledge.
There is speculation on the Sabre if you want to go dumpster diving.
Probably should just wait until we hear officially. Which likely won’t be until Saturday knowing our staff.
Syracuse was informed by acc and uva who it was. Coach B said later it was a bench player that played limited mins.
I read it on the Sabre as a poster on the Syracuse board who is “in the know” posted that they heard that from Boeheim. So not sure of the reliability and pushing it forward is just propelling a rumor. But if I’m wrong, my apologies in advance.
Anyway this is probably one of those scenarios that doesn’t warrant speculation or isn’t worth speculating at least.
Louisville being kept out by the UK AD should ease tensions in that rivalry
Ohio is getting a loooot of love on this CBS show
Toughest 13 by overall seeding
Wow, so Georgia Tech is a 9 seed and UNC is an 8 seed? I need to look at their resumes again, but what? Didn’t GT beat them head to head, finish ahead of them in ACC regular season and obviously ahead of them in the ACC tourney? I know GT had a really rough non-con start, but man.
Before the brackets were announced, I was hoping that our positive case was not Jay or Sam. Now I’m hoping that it’s not Reece or Kihei.
Honestly I see a potential Final Four for us if Gonzaga Iowa and Kansas all get Covid
If I remember right, Boeheim didn’t say it was a bench player, he said that no member of Syracuse’s squad had been in close contact to the player for more than a few minutes or something. That seemingly implies it wasn’t a starter and was somebody who played limited minutes. But I think speculating beyond that about who it is serves no purpose at all. Whoever it is is already having a really rough time, and fans knowing who it is won’t make it any better for them or the team, which is all we should care about.
That’s not the “Obviously it’s Beekman if no one on Cuse was close to him” joke, is it?
Looking like we should have Murphy and Hauser at least — both posted on Instagram just with captions about the tournament.
All of the 13 seeds are roughly in the same neighborhood in terms of advanced stat rankings, so not too troubled by getting Ohio vs any of the other teams. Creighton is probably the best draw for us in terms of a 5 seed, depending on how much you think Villanova should be downgraded for having no Gillespie.
Bet the Ohio coach calls up the Kent State coach for a scouting report on us (assuming they’re on friendly terms). They lost to Illinois by 2 early in the season. Preston’s height seems like a bad matchup for Kehei, so maybe Reece gets the assignment initially.
The draw we got is probably only marginally worse or better than any other 4 seed’s draw. All the 1s are tough and the best team we’ve beaten this year is…UNC?
I’ll be thrilled if we play Gonzaga.
At first glance, I thought FSU’s draw was quite a bit better. I can’t even remember who they play now.
UNCG with the 5/12 as Colorado v Georgetown. Think they have a significantly easier first round but probably a harder second round
