Spring Recruiting Thread

Every single coach you named coach in the greatest era of ACC hoops ever (in terms of talent). The ACC hasn’t been that power we watched in the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. TB imo is a better game coach than Roy, Lefty and Bobby C imo. Yes, I think TB proved to be a better in-game Coach than Roy towards the end of Roy’s run at UNC.

Off the top of my head the better ACC Coaches I can think of than TB would be, K, Dean, Gary Williams (it’s close). Again this is off the top of my head.

Dang it. Those 2 as well. Pitno and Jimmy B.

What’s an example of a dishonest opinion?

Well this got a bit carried away. Let’s try to leave personal vendettas out of friendly sports debates please.

I hate being the message board police.

You have to put K and Roy on top for Natty’s. I guess Dean Smith goes up there too. But relative to ACC competition, who else has a first place finish as regularly as Bennett? He has 6 in 14 years. K had 13 in 41 years. The teams were more talent laden back then, but those guys were mostly in a smaller conference too. Bennett’s titles have come in a 15-team league. And he didn’t have Sampson.

I think I disagree on those two if you’re talking in-game coaching tbh. Pitino is undeniably one of the best ever at X’s and O’s but he consistently got outcoached by TB in their head to head matchups. Boeheim IMO was never an elite in-game coach, more a great scheme guy who recruited well to his style. Taking out the meltdown in 2016 (which wasn’t really even some genius level coaching tactic from Jim, he just put on a press and it worked) our teams consistently tore the 2-3 zone apart.

Overall those two have the better resumes, but they’ve got a lot of years on TB as well. I think if TB wins one more chip he surpasses JB and Gary Williams at the very least.

We did in that game too. We just suddenly lost the ability to make the bunnies. And no one thought to slow up after crossing half court, advantage or not, and run off the clock. (And also quit giving the ball right back to a suddenly can’t miss Malichai Richardson)

Really obvious summer blowup coming for this guy, has already started a little. Curious if UVA checks him out, he’s mentioned hearing from them before.

Uggh twitter embeds getting annoying

This is it exactly. We beat the press just fine in that game (which is still the hardest loss to swallow personally). We just kept missing the easy stuff, often while running with numbers. it was like watching a train wreck in slo-mo.

From a recent Jarin interview (pub yesterday 247 Carolina site):

What’s your timeline for deciding on reclassification and deciding on your school?
By the end of the school year I’ll probably make a decision, which is June 9. That’s the end of my school year, so that’s the timeline right now.

edit : the context is more reclass decision than deciding on school (though obviously intertwined)

This one is starting to annoy me. I am awful at Liars Polker. This guys team may be worse than me

Lines up with what HGN has been saying. Let’s hope he decides to stay in 2024, though honestly I’m not putting too much stock in our chances just to save the inevitable heartache.

Of course I knew. That’s your move. Smh

The Spring portion of the EYBL finishes this weekend. And of course UNC wants him to decide on a reclass soon after. The thing to watch out for him taking an official visit there some time after next weekend. If it does, that’ll probably be more like a christening ceremony. If he doesn’t, then he’s either not reclassing or at least not to UNC.

Sad to see this board going down the toilet given the number of idiots who are allowed to troll here.
