One last Hodge post (since he’s not even someone confirmed on our radar lol)
Apparently he was already getting recruited by Maryland before Coach Jones left the hokies for them, but Coach Jones was apparently his dad’s roommate at ODU.
Also lol at this comment. “Seems like the kind of kid who goes to Wisconsin and starts for 3 years and is a giant pain in the **** to deal with.”

More good clips (also he’s not 19 like the comment says lol but he does turn 19 in November…so he could reclass to 2023…and redshirt).
Also I think a closer comparison is that he’s like an in-between of Traudt and Bobi Klintman.
I like that his AAU team appears to encourage their players to do actual basketball things, like cut off the ball or actively relocate to open space for 3. Someone send TB the clip of the hard hedge leading to a turnover and dunk. But maybe take out the music first.
I would not think Rohde would be a deterrent for PG recruits. Do you think Dante Harris is? I would think from a recruit’s perspective he falls more in the “there’s another PG on the roster” instead of “I’ll need to play behind this guy for 2 years”. I think the staff could sell that Dante is a nice piece but the PG spot is open for competition.
Additionally, I’m seeking some clarification. While a player cannot enter the transfer portal now, those already in the portal can still transfer with immediate eligibility. Presumably, this means a player can do so up until their new school is no longer accepting transfers for the next term. Is that correct? Furthermore, a player not in the portal can still transfer, but they would have to sit a year before becoming active. Do I have that right? As I said, just looking for some confirmation. All this talk of the portal closing seems fraught with misleading implications.
Will have to wait for someone that knows. Assume if you were/ are already in youre live and available. Would assume there is some end date on making the decision though. Unless no one wants you which sucks
As of this morning, Verbal Commits shows nearly 1,750 players have entered this year’s transfer portal. Roughly, 880 of them (a smidge over 50%) have found new homes. If I am not mistaken, the past few years have seen about 40% of the players in the portal did not transfer to a new school. I don’t know how many of those also pursued professional careers, too, but I don’t think the numbers would be significant. That said, I haven’t seen any discussion in the media about what happens to those who are in the portal but don’t transfer. I imagine it would be enlightening.
