And a few plays away from 14-0 lol. We deserved the record we had this season. Schedule was easy but this team couldāve still been 8-4 with a tough ACC schedule. We can live in the top half of the ACC if the money keeps flowing
We will pass JMU and Tulane for sure
I think this is the important part. Can this season lead to momentum. And can we hit on another Jmari Taylor?
Im still very skeptical on Des but am interested to see how we look next season with all those olinemen who were out injured.
Cartoons Plural from VA Tech says āFudgeā.

There are about eight elite teams in college football, and theyāre all in the CFP. The teams that missed the CFP but made a bowl game range from mediocre to fairly good. The teams that didnāt even make a bowl game suck. We spent the last few years as a team that sucks. Iām happy being in the fairly good range for once.
And I couldnāt care less how much the roster cost. It aināt my money.
The measured optimist in me thinks that, even with this exact same talent level, if we were one standard deviation better on the injury front, we could repeat this kind of season next year.
Weāre already ahead of them in AP poll, we just werenāt a conference champ.
Yeah. I mean, in the NIL era its really hard to tell how the next season will go, but next seasonās schedule at first glance does not look substantially tougher than this one.
I mean, yeah. But also literally four plays away from being 7-7. Including the last play of the season.
Mizzou got 75 yds on the first drive, about 55 on the last one where we were trying to prevent the big play (that almost didnāt work out) and about 130 the rest of the game. Good thing the D didnāt have my mindset after that first drive. I thought we would need (and not get) 40 or more points to win the game.
No we arenāt, youāre thinking of CFP, which doesnāt do a final ranking
I just also think we had some pretty severe injury struggles this year. Like it would be nice to āupgradeā our talent but what if we just didnāt have several of our star players with season ending injuries. Or what if we had a healthy Morris and a healthy Kam, even keeping all of the other injuries
Regardless, after this season, money and talent should flow a little easier. It will be interesting to see how Elliot retools the roster
Oh, youāre right. I hadnāt even noticed ESPN moved from defaulting to AP for its rankings to CFP.
Edit - Ok, so we should pass the loser of Texas-Michigan (especially if its a blowout and/or Texas wins), we should pass Tulane and JMU, but now thereās one fewer possible upset that could move us up. Houston beating LSU shouldnāt really matter, and even if Iowa beats Vandy and passes us Vandy should then fall behind us.
So, Iām thinking 17th, possibly 16th.
Edit2 - We finished 1998 ranked 18th and we should beat that. 1996 we finished ranked 16th and we could tie that if things break right for us. 1994ās finish of 15th isnāt realistic to reach but would be our best finish since the programās all-time best AP season-finish rank of 13th in 1951.
So ⦠see yāall in Brazil? Too early for a thread?
Yep, definitely a missed OPI on No. 1.
Mizzou died for her sins on Calvaliery Hill.
I think @JBHoo and are gonna do a post season/portal show maybe with a special guest. Look for that aftet the portal opens
Looking forward to ot
That game was a ton of fun to attend. I had to wait until the replay on the big board to confirm the win. What a season!
My mom even noticed that & texted me about it. Surprised she was dialed in enough to pick up on it. It was THAT bad. lol
