Thought this was a good recap. Also made me wonder if Hardy only wanted that record & then didnāt want to risk injury? Or wasnāt getting the kind of results he normally does & didnāt want that to be peopleās lasting perception? Maybe he really did kind of opt out. Otherwise, some odd coaching decisions for sure. Hoos Win
Em dash is a giveaway
We also won this game without:
- Starting RT Mills
- Backup RT Thomas
- WR1 Receiver Harris
- RB1 Taylor
- RB2 Brown
- RB4 Vaughn
- TE Twitty
- MLB1 Robinson
- MLB2 Marcellus
- CB Morris
- S Charles
- WR Thomas
Thatās a lot of talent, especially on offense. Wish we had a couple of plays back, but Iām impressed with what they were able to do without so many weapons on offense.
Iām excited to see if we can hold on to a good bit of this roster and run it back. Need some pieces but feel like weāre in a good spot.

Chatgpt loves the em dash

Nah, he was PISSED he wasnāt getting the ball. Screamed at the sideline on a couple occasions and was visibly upset after that 4th down failure.
For all the talk of players not ācaringā about bowl games, it really looked like the ones participating last night were all in.
I didnāt see him pissed after the 4th down failure, but he did limp off the field after the 3rd down play.
They showed the coach talking to him and he walked away shaking his head frustrated. I dont think Hardy willingly left that game. He was juiced all second half wanting the ball.
Mizzou coach blew it.
Announcers said at one point that Hardy was standing on the sidelines without his helmet. Wondering if maybe he was injured.
But I use em dashes!
Well guys, itās been fun but I need to go wrestle with my own redundancyāsilently growing until this overt metastasis ānow.

Maybe he was banged up and Drinkwitz sat him to protect him. Taking the heat now rather than risk further injury. Seems plausible and somewhat admirable.
Lol I donāt need you to believe me
I love the em-dash. My editor at the RT-D said that the em-dash is a great way to pause the reader and insert a relevant thought without having to use ellipses or a period.
Thatās honestly a great rationale to use them. Itās funny because I used them before but sparingly. The rise of their use by AI actually made me rememember and appreciate the em-dash more and Iād like to use it more but I donāt want everyone to think AI is writting ally stuff.
Interesting comparison between coaches in the post-game press conferences. Tony came across as very genuine and thoughtful and complimented Mizzou quite a bit. Drinkwitz came across as really butt-hurt and basically just said they didnāt execute when they needed to. He didnāt give U.Va. much credit, if at all.
Iām glad we won, especially against losing coaches like him. SEC arrogance is a hard thing to overcome.
Best parts about this Gator Bowl compared to the last one?
(1) We survived the last-second nonsense.
(2) No Gobbler banner planes.
I forgot about that plane!
One last (maybe) thing. I was SO happy for Clary last night! Great way to go out after a difficult journey. And in front of a hometown crowd!
