I realize some people are working during the day today, but why isn’t our game and pop tarts tonight rather than against the NFL.

No NFL, no televised NBA, no NCAAB tonight and there’s the most meh bowls.

This is hilarious..

It’s definitely kitschy, but credit to the Pop Tart Bowl for finding a way to make the game more compelling.

Honestly it’s probably just a combo of wanting a Saturday game and an extra day away from Christmas.

Well I for one have had enough family time and need some sports!

interesting stat here. Morris got pressured about in line with the national average, but he was only sacked on about 10% of pressures,

I’m struggling to get pumped for this game for some reason. Used to get so hype for bowl games. Maybe that will change closer to game time but it doesn’t feel like game day

Well the bitter truth is it doesn’t really matter.

The only thing on the the line is the 11th win which will be huge for the program. But the game itself is meh

Feeling the same type of way! Hopefully 300 mg of caffeine and grilled burgers tonight helps! GO HOOS!!

I’ll obviously be very excited if we win, but I just feel like the stakes are so low after weeks of games meaning so much. Maybe that’s why

Yeah I thought eventually I’d find myself getting excited for this game but to be honest it’s just not there. ACC title loss put a damper on this one.

Still a great season but idk this game feels so inconsequential, whereas a playoff berth would have been massive even if we got blasted.

I’d be disappointed if we had major issues in the trenches. We’re as healthy as we have been on both lines. Mizzou literally has beaten zero teams with a winning record. Only 1 team with 6 wins. I think they probably still have an edge but there’s not much of a reason why we shouldn’t be competitive. I think it’s going to be a low scoring field position game.

That’s what keeps me from being hyped for this. When you know what could have been with a CFP apperence.

There’s no other way to put it the Gator Bowl is a secondary prize for the season

Feels like a weird middle ground. It’s a prestigious bowl (whatever that means anymore) but played several days before new years. It’s a Florida destination, but it’s Jacksonville. It’s an opponent from the SEC, but it’s Mehzzou. It’s a consolation prize for losing the ACC Championship game and missing the CFP. It’s the TaxSlayer Almost Bowl.

Mizzou avg 5.3 yards a carry while holding opponents to 3.5. They run the ball very well and stop the run. That’s my concern.

If UNC and Duke dominated our D line what will they do?

Really interested to see how Rud calls the game knowing how run heavy they’ll be with a relative inexperienced QB. Does he really stack the box or just play our base D.

I do agree with the likely low scoring part and turnovers may be the difference. Can we force the freshman QB into a mistake or 2?

After how passive Rud was in OT against Duke, I’ll be disappointed if he lets Mizzou run all of over us to start. Hope we’re aggressive and stacking the box from the first snap

Massive difference is you can stack the box agaisnt Mizzu they are not a threat to pass and probably less of one with the backup.

Duke was a pass first team all year with legit threats on the edge and they used that threat to attack underneath and in the middle.

Two completely different scouts and preps. Rud didn’t guess wrong often this season and I trust he’ll be ready this time.

I get the disappointment. I was at the game in Charlotte like a bunch of you and felt that. But I don’t want that to be the close to the season. I’m driving with my girlfriend to Jax in an hour, bought tailgate tix, will introduce her to UVa post-season football and likely be there for the last game of Morris’s football career pleasantly buzzed/ripped drunk (depending on discretion and score) on a 68 degree night. In a life defined by good fortune, this may not be the apex, but I’m damn sure thankful for it. Like I said earlier, most don’t get to enjoy this like I do, but maybe there are enough with opportunities to bring kids to their first game or reunite with friends to make it worth it.
