Keels was so painful but it was covid and suspenseful and that’s all we had lol. HGN had to do a record amount of hand holding

Thanks for everything, HGN. You brought a lot of fun and excitement to a normally fairly murky part of college hoops and I really appreciated it.
Also, I told my younger daughter and she asked me to tell you “thanks”. You making the introduction to Merch and the stuff that came out of it created some of her favorite moments from the middle of high school. We’ll always appreciate that.

haha Appreciate the Tu love fest, kinda touching to be honest. And never say never I guess but I don’t think I’ll ever feel the urge to jump back in.
My life has exponentially improved since I made the decision to give this up 6 months ago. Stress melted, time and energy to do things. I only look at social media when I want to, often not at all during the day. No more fear of missing out and anxiousness when I hear a new notification bell. I had been doing this so long that I really didn’t recognize the toll it had taken until I walked away. It’s nice to watch games like a normal fan again too, not feel the need to overanalyze.
I’ve gotten back into decent shape, down nearly 40 lbs. Went for a 3 mile run today, couldn’t have done 1 without collapsing back then. Can do 40 push ups in a set vs 15 before. Recurring back problems and other minor nagging physical ailments are virtually gone. Been dating a woman not much more than half my age, might night last but it’s fucking awesome.
I took a super boring govt job, the life hack I wish I had figured out earlier in life. Home by 5 daily, weekends and holidays off. Zero thought about it after hours. Cubicle life gets a bad wrap, it’s pretty damn sweet. Still took a small financial hit without the extra LRA money but the freedom and peace of mind are more than worth it.
Don’t be mistaken…I loved doing the HGN thing for a long time. No regrets. I had some pretty incredible experiences, got to know people that would have otherwise been impossible. And some of them I consider among my best friends. It was a great ride. But I should have stepped away a little sooner. Burnout had set in, was time to let it go.
