Good for the ACC. Seeing young productive guys leave places like ND, GT, Clemson, etc is bad for the league. I get an exodus after a coaching change like at UVA or State, but where thereās stability and itās the coach who recruited/developed the player, the league needs to see rosters stay together.
Yeah but selfishly I wanted Young Peja, Burton, and Donald Hand Jr (who Iām guessing is staying at BC) in the portal.
Would think Burton and Dent do the explore the NBA thing atleast first, no?
Consolidating chatter of this guy here. Profile seems to be to be borderline for this level? He faced weak comp (will be true for lots of guys we look at, but just need to factor it in) and wasnāt very efficient inside the arc, so I think heād be a true 3pt specialist. And then he wasnāt his teamās #1 or #2 guy in the adjusted plus-minus metrics (BPR, RAPM).
I think someone like Nick Dorn (not in the portal, but just as a comp in the same conference) would have less translation risk, IMO.
This is a good reminder of what weāre dealing with. This shows the Sweet 16 and where their starting 5s started school.
Took me a second to figure out which one was Alabama lol. Some of these are kinda hard to match!
Three schools (Michigan, Arizona, Kentucky) made up entirely of former transfers in their starting 5.
Purdue is pretty easy.
Damn, props to Duke.(can I give myself a
emoji for saying this?).
Hey, we made the sweet 16! Or part of us did anyway
Itās a good reminder that you still have to nail HS recruiting. Whereās Auburn without Tahaad?
Wonder if this impacts Falslev
Less money to give the players. Helps push him outā¦
Anyone else needing to unlearn the reflex of paying attention to typical Bennett-ian recruiting grounds? Farewell, random towns in Wisconsin whose names occupied space in my brain.
Oh for sure. Forcing myself to pay way more attention to recruits from VA. What other areas should catch our eye with this staff?
London town
Maybe the penalty should beā¦sitting out a year? I wonder if thatās ever been tested??? ![]()
Odom has had so many jobs that I think he probably has a much stronger network than we realize. Certainly we have extremely strong connections in VA. I would add NC and the DMV too given Odomās time at UMBC and Henryās time at GTown. Aldrich has very strong roots in Texas/Houston so I imagine weāll have some success there too.
All the guys from my time vouch for him for what its worth
