My guess is UVA ends up keeping more than people expectā¦Iāll say 5 players. Odom will bring two from VCU, Brit Mamadi and Brandon Jennings. Add a local HS recruit, probably snag one more 2025 kid late. 2 or 3 from the portal. Letās hoop.

Would be a lot of overlap but could see that āportal guard/wingā easily being Bryce Lindsey. Heās a good shooter which that lineup you listed is lacking
Difficult to tell what goes through players minds about where to play in this new free agency era, but it would seem like Rohde would have a pretty good opportunity here if IMac is gone. I like him at the 3 with any combination of Mallory, Gertrude, Dai Dai, and Portal guard/Jennings.

I think you could add Lindsay and then have your PG rotation be Dai Dai/Mallory/Jennings. Lindsay is mainly a combo guard.
Only thing is Iām not sure how much Odom would love a Dai Dai/Lindsay backcourt defensively. Dai Dai has improved on that end but still not really where youād want him to be and Lindsay is a massive work in progress. Offense would be great though.

Iām being optimisticā¦will be a couple weeks before thereās any real feel of what players are doing individually. But assuming itās Odom, I think heāll at least have a shot with most of them. Getting 5 to stay would be best case scenario probablyā¦could go the other way and start bare, never know right now.

UMBC backcourt was small 5ā7 5ā11 right? Utah St he had Ashworth and Shulga so a mix. At VCU he seems all in on the athletic big guard rotation and forcing turnovers
I would imagine heād want to continue this at the high major level.
Dai Dai to me is more of a SG than a PG right now in terms of offensive role.

Tbh I want as much shooting as possible in our backcourt if Odom is gonna be the coach here. Jizzle is a perfectly solid player but I want nothing to do with a guard shooting 28% from 3 on 200+ attempts on a team thatās gonna take half its shots from beyond the arc.
