Itās been a few years. If heās committed to improving himself, served his time, and made restitution, he gets his second chance. And as others will point out, guys with similar or worse incidents have gone on to get more paydays.
Intriguing mid major kid
Doesnāt feel like weāll be interested.
Hmmm not a bad comparison but he needs Samās confidence⦠but also Sam was more pure from 3 and also ACC player of the year ![]()
The tell for me is Wake opted to participate in the NIT when a ton of programs passed. The flip side for him is, he knows exactly what kind of role he will have (tons of shots/scoring/featured guy), as opposed to the risk of jumping a half level up and sacrificing. He should get drafted after next year regardless.
Not sure if this is right, but I donāt rate ādraft exposureā as a primary reason someone portals. For me itās in some order:
- Role
- Money
- Coach-related (coach left and is bringing you, coach left and isnāt bringing you, you hate the coach, etc)
Role can impact draft evaluations of course, but the NBA is good at finding guys off-the-beaten path and projecting forward. I mean, Cedric Coward went lottery off of 2 seasons in the Big Sky and 6 games in the WCC.
Inclined to agree. Kaiser Jr is a fine rotational wing, but for the portal adds, we have gone with:
- Proven power conference player in a similar role (Hall)
- Best or second-best on their team midmajor player (Thomas, Lewis, White)
- Criminally underutilized power conference player with a strong system fit (Onyenso)
Not sure if Kaiser Jr fits into any of those buckets.
CRO needs to leverage his Euro connections and get Vaaks immediately. Would love that move

I know nothing about this kid, but think of the fun we could have with an all-Chance backcourt!
Sam was first team all ACC but not ACC POY. That was Moses Wright from GT
Pace-ism struck again
As the old man would say. ONIONS!!!
@kjwilliams612 has talked about Chance Gladden before
If heās fixed his jumper, the dude is really good! Gets into the lane with ease and draws a ton of fouls. Would honestly be a great backcourt mate for Chance but itāll be interesting what heās looking for.
Heāll go from being the de facto star of the team at BU had he stayed to maybe now trying to remain a starter at a higher level. If we can sell him on rotation and competing I think heās great to have but hopefully he wouldnāt be the gem of the class.
But we could take our Chance-s!
Patriot to power conference seems like a really big jump - canāt think of too many recent positive examples
oh to be clear I think he is almost certainly not ready to be P4 level player for us, I just want to double our Chance-s
