The player I weirdly keep thinking about post all this is TJ Power. Poor dude really liked UVA and and Tony but got sold a bit of a bill of goods to go to Duke. Realized he made a mistake, came to UVA to play for the coach that would actually be best for him, then like two months later that coach peaces out. Dude has got to be like āCollege basketball sucks. Screw this Iām going to Boston Collegeā.

Iām team Sanchez/continuity hire above all else. I know most disagree and I understand why. But I think Tony deserves to make an assistant replacement hire as much as all the rest of the other Hall of Fame guys that did it and think itās BS that Carla wouldnāt let him

Thereās no deserve. Itās not his job to do that. An AD hires and fires. His guy gets a chance and thatās about what it should be but Sanchez shouldnāt be guaranteed anything. Would be malpractice from Carla if she just guaranteed it.

I love Tony and Iām grateful for everything, but Carla not letting him pick his successor after 5 years with no tourney wins and an offense that has collapsed into total dysfunction is not a ridiculous thingā itās the responsible one.

Why are we still on this?
The man said he made the decision last weekend when he was on the Northern Neck with his wife. Thereās no evidence to support the assumption that he tried to force our ADās hand.
He retired before the season. We have an interim coach. There will be a search after the season, and the current assistants likely will be considered.
Thatās it. Thereās no conspiracy for anyone on either side of the issue who seem to be suggesting otherwise.
