šŸ€ Tony Bennett Retires, Ron Sanchez to be Interim HC

Topic of discussion for your Fridayā€¦ what is your favorite REGULAR SEASON win of the TB era? Rule is you canā€™t use a game that someone else has already used.

Iā€™ll startā€¦ the win in Cameron 2018 to get the monkey off our back

Jerome hitting that end game 3 instantly made him my favorite all time Hoo

Syracuse 2014. Bonus points because I was there. Loudest Iā€™ve ever heard JPJ when Rogers hit that 3.

At home vs UNC maybe 2016? UNC was maybe number 1 or 2 and you saw them full on quit in the second half

@StLouHoo agree on bonus having been at the game

The Marshall game where we scored 100

Has anyone seen a ā€œgreatest hits of the Bennett eraā€ piece yet?

Feels like the timing has precluded the opportunity to do some good career appreciation retrospective pieces like that.

ACCN will make something like Unbelievableā€¦ we will all love itā€¦ then they will play it 1,000,000,000 times replaying it every 5 hours due to lack of ACCN content. I canā€™t wait.

For me, these are the two Maryland wins in College Park (2015, 2019). So fun to enter a hostile environment like that and just destroy their will both times. Iā€™d argue a beatdown is almost more fun to watch on the road vs at home

At Syracuse in 2018-19 when we went unconscious from 3 in the second half and ripped out the crowdā€™s hearts little by little.

Alternatively, the early regular season tournament win against Rutgers in Barclays (2015 or 2016?) when we showed that we were the best at rock fights.

Was at Barclays for that one. Was just an awful game haha

This was just personally such a great memory for me. Was winter break for grad school so I was home for the holidays. Went to the game with my dad, going to Boylan pregame and Lickinghole Creek on the way back to Richmond. As for the game, that was really when you started to get the sense that the program could legitimately be competing for championships. Kentucky was historically good, but we were starting to make an argument that we werenā€™t far behind.

I would appreciate a column on like the top 100 wins (there are so many) with a bullet on each of anyone has the timeā€¦

Anyways, Iā€™ll go with the Baylor win in 2022. Might not have ended up meaning much in the grand scheme of things but given the circumstances probably one of the more emotional wins for the university.

I loved that Jay Huff games. Iā€™m going with 2014 ACC Championship. TB wanting to run clock. TB almost has a stroke when Joe Harris throws up a open 3 pointer. Joe salts the game away with that 3 pointer

Was that against Harvard?

2014 @Pitt game. We hadnā€™t really quite turned the corner against good teams on the road at that point in Tonyā€™s tenure. We had lost all top 20 games that year already and had really only beaten decent to bad teams up to that point in our 7-1 ACC start.

This was the moment I knew that year could be special. And obviously it turned into 5 years of being really special.

My absolute top 3 have already been listed, and my next tier down has 2 that are a perfect tie. But taking two great ones would be a jerk move, so Iā€™m flipping a coinā€¦

Ok, heads.

I wasnā€™t there in person, but it was astounding. Wake Forest, January 26th, 2016. 25 seconds to play, weā€™re down by 7 and Wake has the ball. Should be over, but Darius Thompson hits the game-winning 3 at the buzzer. Insane comeback.

Two I havenā€™t seen:

Louisville crazy comeback (when they had the baseline violation)

UNC win in natty year (I think) when Kyle got hot late
