Calipari is very much on the hot seat so I expect him to stockpile as much talent as possible and worry about the consequences later

I think his seat is very hot. That is a very irrational fan base that does not tolerate missing final fours, let alone losing seasons
nah he has a lifetime contract. maybe he will choose to leave at some point but not sure the seat is hot. Agree on the brainwashed fan base however

The fanbase is insane but Calapari is safe. Maybe his seat is lukewarm at best. Of he missed the tourney outright again then Id entertained talkbof a hot seat. But he’s brought enough sizzle to the program to likely pacify everyone
He’s shifting his emphasis from the “one and done” to the “done and one”! Seriously, he seems to be recreating the program to take advantage of the rule change. Pretty smart! However, I don’t really like the tampering which is pretty obvious!

Your description in your first post doesn’t match your second post at all. You talked about Carson, Casey, and Jabri leaving so they could start somewhere else right away and even win a championship. That’s what I am reacting to. Your second post (and replies of other people) compares the situation to a bad work environment (some even suggested an abusive boss). That’s not the same thing at all. If a student-athlete wants to change schools to seek out an environment that suits him better athletically, academically, or socially, I have no problem with that. If you or anyone has evidence of Bennett being abusive or lying or giving false hope to his players or otherwise fostering a bad environment, by all means share.
I think Bennett is honest to a fault to every kid he recruits, promises nothing other than an opportunity to compete, and faithfully develops his kids as players and people. I think most of them are fine with that because they were told the truth up front and knew what they were committing to. So I don’t believe there will be a mass exodus and there surely won’t be misgivings lime there may be from players at other programs with coaches who are less forthright.
Many of your posts seem to preach an approach for kids to take the easy or me-first route. I think Bennett purposely avoids recruiting kids (and their families) like that. When you talk about kids and their people in AAU who clearly have that me-first, make-me-a-promise mentality, and who consequently have reservations about UVA, I am thankful to know who those kids are to know who should be promptly dropped from any recruiting wish list. Of course, it doesn’t matter because the coaching staff’s opinion is the only one that matters, and they have the direct contact with recruits and families to judge what they are really like and decide whether to pursue them.

I am once again frustrated by how stupid UNC plays the game. They have such talent and just make bad decision after bad decision and seem to not really care.
I got to thinking how Garrison Brooks would be a tremendous asset in our program, if his talent was actually used in a program with a clear purpose. All indications are that he has loved his time at UNC, but man he would be a great transfer into our program. There is no real truth in here, just a pipe dream.

This was so crazy that I had tu reply. When did I say ONE time any of those things about TB. You can not like a boss for many reasons and stop being so literal. I could say its not the same because at a job a person get paid. In college you don’t. But a civil person should be able tu comprehend the comparison. When you are discussing topics. You should be able tu get a point without every single detail matching. Im just blown away how you took what I said and turned it intu what you posted. This next part is not about just you. But people will go tu EXTREMES tu make a point or prove they were right. How in the hell you gather that from my post is just crazy. My point was, if you had another opportunity that fit your needs better. Would you take it or not. POINT BLANK AND SIMPLE. I used our players because we all know them. Would you prefer I use Duke because you hate Duke and coach k. Come on fam. We are discussing a general topic and of course it turns intu you hate TB and TB for president campaign. OMG Message boards are really going down hill. SMH

This was Tre Mitchell’s prep coach, who UMass hired to get him. Now conveniently gone. And also on the market for someone else to try making the same arrangement.
