That’s a huge get for VT. That guy is a tremendous shooter.
Yeah annoying they add another shooter but their fans are getting way ahead of themselves. This year was largely smoke and mirrors; they’ll have expectations I seriously doubt MY will be able to meet next year

Yeah. I mean, Young did a good job and significantly outperformed expectations, and they should be happy with that. But KenPom notes they had the easiest schedule in the ACC by a LOT, and IMO Pastner was kinda robbed for COTY.
Edit - Especially if GT wins the ACC tournament. 4 min to go and they’re still right there. Wow!
Edit2 - That game is insane. FSU is shooting over 55% for both their 2s and 3s (and their 3FT% is almost triple GTs), they’re grabbing almost half the available boards on GTs side, and they’re LOSING because of all those TOs.

It seems like every new transfer announcement is a 6’4” to 6’6” wing. As in, the place where we already long. Sure would be nice to see some athletic bigs join the crowd.

Hasn’t done much but a high ceiling prospect. Athletic who can shoot with some handle. Also would add to our North Carolina collection.

I’m surprised. He averaged like 4pts under 30% from 3 on a mediocre Providence team
I think they recruited him out of HS, usually a running thread with the transfer inquiries.

We did but I’d suspect we’d only be after proven guys at this level
I liked him a lot of HS. He can be special defensively but hasn’t developed any sort of offensive game. Doubt they pursue but who knows. He also didn’t UVA any consideration at all. They tossed a Spring offer out, never really followed it up, and weren’t a factor. Always a lot of “reaching out” to transfers, most don’t go past that.

I’m not sure I would discount our interest in Gantt just yet. He offers defensive capabilities we don’t currently have, has a handle, and is very athletic. Offensively, he has work to do.

Wow, shot 52% overall and close to 38% from three while averaging that high point total. His listed height is also 6’8. Very interesting.
