The bracket kind of fell their way in 2023. All the 1 seeds knocked out and played Miami and SDSU. I believe Clingan was a pretty major contributor by tourney time

I looked up his agent and noticed he was taller and bigger than most of his clients, and it turns out he was a center at Lehigh:

He should, i seen alot of posters was a little unsure about this player if we picked him up. But let me tell you this guy is a baller. Once he adjusted to college basketball in a elite conference he he took off. If he ball out for UVa and indeed Coach Bennet give his players i little more offensive freedom to play their game, he can do wonders for changing of the perception of the problem. I love his swager and dog mentality. Welcome to the program Dai Dai Ames wahoo!

Interesting.
Does he mean this as he really likes this roster and thinks we’re legit? Him saying that he likes the Dai Dai Ames pickup hints that it’s this.
Or is he making a joke that Tony will win a weak ACC with a weak roster just because that’s what he does? I lean towards this. But idk, lol.

Honestly, I think it is the former. Won’t know for sure until he attempts to talk about it I suppose. He LOVES TJ Power.
Edit: He has raved about UNC and Duke (of course), so I don’t think he is saying the entire conference is weak.

Just thinking about this; there was the tweet about Dai Dai, and he recently said on F68 that he LOVES TJ Power – as I said – AND he commented that he thinks Christian Bliss is going to be very good.
But you may be right.

It’s the first.
He and his F68 partners have been saying that Bennett needs offensive changes. Ames is a different kind of dude, same with Warley. And Power has more pure talent than our previous stretch-4s. Saunders could be used as a stretch Ryan Dunn offensively.
There’s a lot to like about what we’ve brought in.

Last couple weeks have been fun…the two weeks before were a little rough, but that’s the trade off. Back to the AAU grind now.

At the end of it all it feels like a nice mix of old and new. We have more scorers than we have had since 2019. I like we have core group of returners that should provide continuity in locker room culture. I like that most of the transfers are rising 2nd or 3rd years, more time with them in the program. I like that the one one year voucher guy is Wharley who has played a ton of ACC minutes. The ingredients are there for a good year. With so many new faces the chance to implode is there (see Miami this past season). But CTB runs a good program with well established Core values. I’d put the money on the over with this group.
